Hi i am curently tryin to decide on a bike, i would like a bike for woods and the mountain track here in ireland im 18 5 11" and 12.5 stone. would you be able to make a 125 motox into a good bike for this job and if so how? can you soften the powervalve and put on a flywheel weight? etc i have 1500 to spend on a new bike, i am only used to riding a senda 100 without a powervalve! what price would it cost to do the mods etc? is it difficult to maintain a 125 motox and how often would i need to do rebuilds? please reply cause the guys in WHICH BIKE? aint 2 good! please thanks

what year are you looking at, i rode my friends '93 YZ 250 and my 125 in the woods all the time, i never did any mods to it and neither did he, just keep the revs high. only thing i would suggest is softer suspension and a silencer for when your riding for awhile (the stock gives me a headache after awhile)

probably any 95 125 motox. would a silencer really shut them up? cause were i ride the give out bout noise so ill need it. would a 250 be way too powerful?

i would just gear it down (larger rear sprocket and smaller front sprocket) and add some hand guards,,i have every mod for low end on my bike, and those are the only ones i think that really made my 125 bike a pleasure to ride in woods. It lugs very well now with the low gearing. the pipes, porting, reeds, spacers,, all of those mods were more like an "influence".
but if you get a 250, i'd add a flyweight for sure as well as rad valve, and extra rear tooth.

is it possible to disconnect the powervalve and put it on when im used to diding the bike? how often do i have to replace the top end?
