I never ride after dark. Thought I would switch out the head light for a # plate, as I think the light looks a bit goofy anyway. Possibly a MX style rear fender too.
What brands of plastic do you guys like? Some seem (in catalogs) to look cheaper than others. Are any of them as smooth and glossy as the OEM stuff?
What # plate should I get? KX? I have the ability to fabricate any mounts etc....
Is there a point where I can disconnect the light wiring without cutting anything, in the event that I need to put the OEM stuff back on? Thanks for the help.

i use a UFO number front #plate - had to trim it a little - no prob tho... check out the MAIER MX rear fender made especially for the 95 & up KDX's...i use one - love it... a word of caution - don't buy a KX rear fender, it won't work without major hassles. MAIER fender is about $44. Kx is about $20. So it cost me $64 where it'll cost you $44......

wiring: i just pulled the headlamp bulb and wrapped the remaining socket/wires up in a baggie and stuffed it behind the #plate. I race MX occasionally and also trail ride/enduro (w/license plate) so i switch it.... The rear light wires disconnect easily right under the seat toward the rear.

What year is your KDX mnnthbx? I have a '91 with all new plastics except for the rear fender and it sucks. Can i put a Maier MX rear fender on mine even tho they are for 95 and up? I dont mind cuttin as long as it isnt way too excessive.

PC, I have a 03. I think the MX plastic looks much cleaner, and has too be a bit lighter also.

I just put a UFO KX500 rear fender on my '92. The front 2 mounting holes were off by a half inch. I just used my dremel to make new holes, worked out great. Only cost $23

I have a 93 kdx200 and I'm gettin a mx rear fender from Fredette the web site says its for the 89-94 kdx200's its made by UFO. I can't say how it fits as I don't have it yet.

Hey wibby you have any pics of the KX fender on the bike? I've always been wondering if the 500 fender would fit on my old KDX!

i have a kx500 rear fender on my '91 KDX, it fit all right, but it did take a good amount of cutting, or maybe i just wasn't doing it right.....

LOL anyone want to buy a kx500 rear fender (pre-trimmed fits good in black) for a 89-94 KDX 200?? i just found the mx rear fender for my year and i want it bad. i will sell it for $20 bucks i bought it for $40. I can give you pic's of it on or off the bike if u want.

Thats what mine looks like except i have a couple stickers on it and it's black...anyone want one!! haha
