are any of you guys currently using or have used sidewinder products in the past? im just curious, there web site claims they are the best, there are some good testimonials, and they do make some interesting points about there products but i want to see what you guys think of them.

I have. I have found from my personal experience that you can go to Rockymountain cycle supply and purchase a TITAX set of sprockets that are made of exactly the same materials and are machined exactly the same way the sidewinders are for a FRACTION of the price. Couple this with an RK X-Ring chain and you will have a set that will last you a LONG time at a fraction of the cost provided you clean them. Cleaning them or any set will make it last much loonger. I also recommend using the Honda HP chain lube or Jaybirds MX-1000 lube. Both are excellent products.
When you buy sidewinder you are paying a lot more because of the name. Similar and equally good products are out there for much less money. Save your money.

I have used their products in the past and can also testify to their quality, although I also have to say that now that I'm not racing I can't justify the cost of their products. If you race, and have an application send it in to them. They sponsored me for two yrs. and I was very happy w/their rider support program, and w/the discount it makes it WAY more reasonable to do buisness w/them. Good quality chain and sprockets. Just like MikeT said though, if you can find the same equipment under a different label(ie: same materials/process) It does make it kind of hard to justify spending the extra dough.

The life of any drive set is highly dependant on the care you give it.
Vic has good products that are built well and are very overpriced. The exact same materials and process' are available for far less money.
Don't fall for the "lasts 4 times longer" hype...it just aint so unless you make it happen, and you can make it happen for much less.
