Who's going to Red Bud?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

RED BUUUUDDD!!!!

I can't wait... 2 more weeks! We'll be there Friday-Sunday and racing the amateur race Friday night. For those who haven't been there... it's a great time!! Amateur races Friday and Saturday night, big fireworks display Saturday night, one of the sweetest tracks on the circuit, and the biggest air on the circuit (Larocco's Leap)!

So... who's in??

I predict K-Dub will get his first win at Red Bud as RC will either have a bad start or go down in one of two motos. K-Dub always does well at Red Bud as long as he doesn't break a chain while in the lead or anything (as has happened before).

I think, I am going. Will know for sure this weekend. I have never been and I am pretty pumped. Friday-Sunday is our plan as well. Fireworks, beer and dirtbikes I can't wait.

Posted by: karterron---------------------

Chris and I will be there Saturday and Sunday.

Posted by: Smit-Dog---------------------

Some of the Michigan crew will be there...

I'll be there !!!

Posted by: carnage---------------------

I'm still debating at the moment. Went last year with my son and had a ball. He's stuck going to CA so he won't be around. I just went on Sunday last year. How's the camping up there? Wouldn't mind hitting the Saturday night race.

Posted by: nikki---------------------

Erick - if you've never been.... then you have to go!!

karterron - look forward to meeting with you!

Smit-dog - thanks for the link!

MrMXer - any plans of racing? Will ya be there the whole weekend?

carnage - camping is under control if you camp by the night track. If you're planning on racing the night track, then you'll have to camp down there anyways. If you're not bringing a race bike, then you have the choice. Up top, through the fence, the Saturday night camping gets pretty wild... but the people camping down by the night track aren't allowed to cross up into the wild zone.

Nikki - I will be there Saturday and Sunday. As far as racing, my back is getting stronger, but I don't believe I am ready to be rubbin bars. I rode for the first time since surgery last week and had a blast. The back felt good, but I haven't tried any major jumps yet.  I now know how a 2-stroke feels when it gets a new top end.

I'll be there to cheer you on Saturday night !

Nikki

Whats the Sat night race like? We were going to get a hotel in South Bend but if the race is worth it we will bring the bikes over. I will just have to find a hotel that has a patio door so we can roll the bikes in at night to sleep with us. I don't have a trailer, haul them in the back of my truck.

Posted by: nikki---------------------

For the past 3-4 years we've always raced the amateur thing on Saturday night because we never got there early enough to race on Friday night. This year, though, since Friday is the 4th... we'll be racing Friday night and not Saturday. The downfalls to racing the amateur track on Saturday are (1) you have to make it down for your practice and first moto and will miss some of the pro track practice and qualifiers, (2) the night track is a little rougher and generally has more riders on Saturday night, (3) your last moto may be at 1 am therefore delaying your party time or sleep time the night before the national. The track is pretty fun, though... has a little bit of everything - fairly long start, sand sections, hard packed sections, tables, doubles, triples, whoops... and a big crowd watchin ya! It does get a little crowded, though, on the track. MrMXer - glad to hear you're riding again and feelin good... probably don't wanna push it just yet.

Posted by: Earthpilot---------------------

I'll be there workin a little, spectating a lot, and walking around with a big smile on my face))

Posted by: Smit-Dog---------------------

Earthpilot - What type of job do you have, and who do you work for?

Posted by: karterron---------------------

I may try to evaluate our situation again. Anybody know of any hotels in the area or South Bend with first floor patio sliders? We will have to bring the bikes into the room at night for security since we don't have an enclosed trailer.

Gotta tuck those babies in at night, nice and neet in their bed.

Smit-Dog, I work for ProClean and Active8 Racing Services. Active8 is the only "supplier" to racers in the Pro pits at every AMA SX & outdoor nat'l.
Racer support for Rental, Motion Pro, ProClean, Mechanix, Twin Air, Ceet,
ProCircuit, etc. Stop by the the rig and say hi at Red Bud.

Posted by: jaction125---------------------

Never been there yet, but I'm gonna this year! At the very least I'll be there sunday but may camp saturday too.

Posted by: TOTALL---------------------

Me and jsned will be there sunday.

Can't wait to see bubba,k-dub,Rc, Larocco--- Heck, I want to see everybody-is it July yet??? :flame: :flame:

Posted by: oldguy---------------------

looks like the kid and I are now in (no Milleville for us this year ). Nikki I'll call you this week -hopefully we can meet up and follow you there so we are pitted together:thumb:. That would make the trip complete for thekid (especially if Red concedes that he will back away)

Posted by: JuliusPleaser---------------------

I'm there, dude. I'm not sure about the crew though. I got at least one person (Lemming) going too.

Posted by: oldguy---------------------

JP
Let us know if it is 1 or 2 we should have room

Posted by: Erick82---------------------

I just booked a room at the Days Inn in South Bend for $45 plus tax for Saturday night, so I am now going for sure, with or with out my riding bros.

Posted by: karterron---------------------

Damn, I feel bad now for paying $85 at the Holiday Inn Express in Mishauwakee. At least I get points on priority club and the kids get the indoor and outdoor pool.

Posted by: JuliusPleaser---------------------

Thanks, Dave! Lemming is definitely in for the trip, but there may be 4 of us. I won't know until the last minute. I invited my bud with the broken leg, but he's not sure he wants to hobble around for 2 days on crutches. Can't say that I blame him.

You want me to bring some ribs?

Posted by: KXKen---------------------

Pit Sally dude will be there for sure on Sunday.

I have not missed Red Bud Nationals in over 5 years.

Posted by: fender92883---------------------

My dad (Fred T) and I have been there for the past 3 years. The best weekend of the year! We get there Friday morning and usually camp RIGHT next to the stadium track--front row seats!!--and get to watch some awesome motocross action! Hope to meet some other DRN'ers there!

Posted by: oldguy---------------------

Fender we will be in the same area
Ford f250 sd (red) pulling a coyote sportster toybox. The kid is racing fri night #35 on a CR125 not sure on what class yet.
Also with us will be nikki #102 YZ250f and red on a CRF450
Bikeless will be Julius pleasr, Lemming and Blackhawk.
Try to look us up

Posted by: Earthpilot---------------------

Hey Oldguy, Nikki and the rest of DRN'ers at Red Bud.
Stop by Active8 Racing Services in the Pro Pits Sat afternoon or Sunday am. We have shade, tables, chairs, water and snacks if you want to hang out between racing. Just ask for Buddy with ProClean, it would be great to see
you all again before Dirt Week!

Posted by: oldguy---------------------

Earthpilot we will be there to see you and just by coincidence I tink thekid is running low on proclean so we may have to pickup a gallon while we are there

Posted by: 147leeman---------------------

Been there the past 9 years now and wouldn't miss it !!! PS- Walk the track, especially to the back sections. I'm amazed by LaRocco's Leap, but don't just stay and watch it all day. In the back sections you can get amazingly close and root on your favorites (LaRocco, Windham).

RED BUUUUUUUUDDDDDDDDDDD!

Posted by: TOTALL---------------------

Almost time for---RED BUUUUUUUUUUD!!!!!!!!!!!! :flame:

Posted by: fender92883---------------------

RED BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUD!!! What an awesome weekend! ...although I got sunburnt and I still gotta wash the last of the mud from out between my toes

It was pretty cool to meet some DRNers and being able to put faces to some of the names I see on here...it'd be awesome to be able to go to DirtWeek and be able to meet even more of you, but my school schedule just won't allow it.

Oh yeah...seeing Jeff Stanton & company clearing the doubles and tabletops on those lil' XRs on the night track was...well, all I can say is WOW!
