Fox Valley Hare Scrambles Race July 6

The weather looks a little iffy, but we're planning to be there tomorrow. Anyone else? Wardy, how is the course shaping up?

I'll be there.

Having never ridden at Fox Valley combined with probably being the oldest rider there will be a slight handicap but I'm in the mood to ride.

Does the race start a 11:30 or 12?
Do we get a practice lap?

Thanks

Layton, No practice lap the last time at FVOR, Wardy puts on a great race, gotta love the "rock garden". I believe we started somewhere between 11:30
and 12:00 last race,

Hope to see you there !

I was there! I didn't see this post until now after the race. I want to meet some of you people! This is my second year racing and I still don't know anybody! What and awesome race wardy had. The rock garden was awesome accept for the Bar Buster Hill after the rock garden. It was really slimmy, but it made for an interesting race! I must have done okay because I finished 3rd in the 200 Little B class. Once again Wardy has amazed me!!! How did the rest of yall do?

I got 3rd in +30B. I had fun, but it was a muggy day and a fairly tough ride. A good course though, very fun layout. I felt pretty good out there until the last lap or so and then I was more than ready to see the checkered flag!

Anne had some problems in the women's race and got herself overheated and didn't finish. She had to wrestle the bike three or four times on hills right off the bat and that killed her, so she pulled off.

All in all, a good day and a fun event except for our friend, Joe Carnes (Carnage on DRN) crashed on the first lap of the big bike race and apparently blew his knee out. He has to go in for an MRI this week but the doctor at the Ottawa hospital suspected that he tore the ACL, so he'll most likely be out of action for a while. It wasn't a hard crash for Joe, but he got his leg hung up in the motorcycle as he went down and it twisted his knee the wrong direction...one of those freak things.

I ended up 3rd in the +40B. Anne had told me before the race that the trails were real slick and she was right. I got hung up in a big mess on the first hill right after the start which cost me several minutes. Other than that and the fact that I had to ride slow the first couple of laps to learn the trail everything went ok.

I kind of liked the rocky creek which didn't seem very rocky to me.

Actually Wardy did a good job with what he has. The temps were real high with a lot of humidty so the easier fast trails were welcome. A rider could have overheated real quick if they had to fight the bike through tight trails.

Sounds like Joe should have visited http://asterisk.com/. I just about ruined my knee at Roselawn this spring. Bought a set of braces after that and really like them. I hope his knee isn't to bad.

I live just down the road in Malta.
If you would like to get together sometime let me know.
I haven't been racing lately due to some medical things but I have regularly raced D17 Enduros and a few Hare Scrambles.
I would have emailed you or PM'ed you but I guess that requires being a subscibing member.

Al E thats cool, I just moved to Kirkland 2 years ago. I live outside of kirkland and have plenty of space to ride. Im planning on riding enduros this fall if I can get my bike street legalized and pass the test on the first try. I also have to find a smaller bike because I am only 16 and cant ride anything under 150cc on the road. Let me know if your going to be in Ottawa in August for the hs and maybe we can meet down there. My email is Bjammin440@aol.com, title the email if you sent me one! Thanks
