Who would have thunk it?!?  RC again.......

It's great to see KW putting in solid finishes and LaRocco living up to his number plate!

Posted by: 121---------------------

Hey don't diss the rock!

Posted by: fender92883---------------------

I WAS THERE!!! AWESOME second 125 moto...Stewart started like 12th or something but by the 3rd lap he was out front and LOOOONG gone, but there were some awesome races between Kelly Smith and Grant Langston, Brock Sellards and Branden Jesseman, and Ryan Hughes and Mike Brown! One of the best motos I've ever seen!

On the last lap of the second moto, going over LaRocco's Leap, Carmichael attempted a Nac-Nac or something and got hung up, had the bike nearly vertical at one point. He looked like he was about to crash BIG, but, of course, he saved it. That would've been a show! I hope I get a chance to watch the race on TV when it's broadcast...

anyone else getting bored of the bubba/ricky show every week?? we had some good racing when bubba was gone

I WANT SOME ACTION DANG IT!!!

Posted by: rickyd---------------------

Yes, which is why i have attended so many local events the last two years. Granted, if i could attend every National venue im sure i would feel differently, but i have seen some pretty FLY local racing....

Dave.....

Was Bubba hitting LaRocco's Leap in the race?

Actually... and unfortunately... Bubba has been said to confirm that he will be racing 125's outdoors next summer, again. Darnit... another summer of the Bubba/RC show. I guess the only cool thing is that he'll be damn close to beating RC's outdoor win record... I think Bubba can lose three more overalls over the next 18 races (through next year) and still beat RC by one?

And Thump - nope he just tried it the one time in practice on Saturday and came up short and hit really hard but didn't crash. Later Bubba said it was a good test of his collarbone.

Posted by: Erick82---------------------

He was also not doing the triple, but still spanked the 125 class.

My first time to Red Bud was a great experence.

Wonder if he still plans on riding the 250 in SX?? I was hoping he would do good in it, then stay in 250 for the eastern part of the SX.. Then of course 250's for the Nats.. Wishfull thinkin

My first RED BUD experience too...It was awesome

I can't see myself missing that again soon!!

Things can change....Bubba says 125's now but next year is a long way off.
Things to concider:

1) He is re-defining the sport as RC did before him. ( He might be faster than RC now and definitely will be within a year or so if he doesn't get HURT!)
2) He moves up only when he knows he can dominate.....and has consistently moved up when he knows he's got the "next" class beat.
3) He's stuffed Chad reed over and over again.
4) Only RC remains in his speed class with any consistency.

My bet is when his 125 lap times show he's faster....he will move up. I also would not be suprised to see that this year.

So I think its 250's next year for Bubba.
(my humble opinion)

I also heard the 125 East SX plan so he can start on a 250 in the West if doesn't go as well as hoped he can drop down to the 125 for the East series. My thoughts are it will go well in the West on a 250 and he'll remain there in SX and outdoors.

Maybe Bubba meant he will race his 125 in the 250 class next year

isn't that the definition of cherry picking?

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

No, staying at a level to insure victory is Cherry Picking

... we are witnessing the new level... the new Jordan, the new Tiger, the next big thing.

I found it weird that Hughes said, the 125's would still be up for grabs even if Stewart WAS there. I think he knows better. Anyone want to make odds Stewart wins ALL remaining moto's ? Short of bike failure, he's so much faster than everyone else, I don't see anyone beating him straight up. He came from DEAD last, passed Brownie like he was a mid-pack rider... the kid has "it".

Posted by: Kawidude---------------------

Assuming that Bubba wins all the remaining motos, what is the highest overall finish he can take in the 125 class? Also assuming that Brown and Hughes are still up front for the remainder of the season. Could Bubba still take 1st, or is he statistically out of it?

Posted by: mx547---------------------

according to racerx, if they stay on the same point per race average since bubba's return, bubba would win the championship by eight points.

Posted by: nephron---------------------

...about the cherrypicking thing....I thought Ping had a good point when he said you've got to consider that he, and the rest of the cherrypickers, are just tryin' to make a living. They've got bills to pay, bellies to feed. If there's more sponsors and dough in 125's, they'll stay there. I can't quite blame them. I look at my daughter, and just thank God I've got a job to support her with. I think Brown knows he'd slip into obscurity in the 250 class...and would therefore lose sponsorship. He sucks on a 250. He's a wide open 125 style rider that just flat keeps it pinned in those off camber, sweeping turns...he's very good at riding ruts and finding lines. He's good at it. I'm not sure I'd advance myself, either.

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

Have you seen Brown's house and cars? How about Hughes'? They aren't going hungry.

As far as I'm concerned, the 125's are for the up and comers.. busting ass for a factory ride. Hughes and Brown already had their careers.

Honda took crap for "buying" championships. Why do you think KTM and PC hired Brown and Hughes?

Posted by: nephron---------------------

I think Hughes dropped down to 'restart' at a safer level for him, because he knew that on a 250 he'd be ballzing it and knocking the piss out of his brain right away. I'd bet he goes back to the 250 soon. Maybe help out the 250SX?

Brown--ahhh, your sense of him is so good, Okie. He's stayin' 125 until he retires. I think he knows he'd end up with a tuffblock up his butt if he tried to bully his way around RC the way he does now, and specifically did against the drone, Fonseca.

BTW, anybody notice how Windham's lookin' pretty thin and whipped these days? Take a look at that shot of him in the Honda tent at Glen Helen, and compare it to now. He looks like he's been a beaten hostage. He's a great talent, but he's realizing that trying to keep up with RC is like being a 1 legged man in an ass kickin' contest. And Bailey says RC just rides around on the weekends--and rides much faster in practice all week long to prepare.

Oooohhhh, can't wait 'til JBS gets there. I'd bet it will be the best racing that's ever been seen in MX history. My call is James will win a slight majority of the races due to sheer talent, while RC will occasionally capitalize on his mistakes. James will win about 50-60% of the races out of the gate.....anyone?

Posted by: marcusgunby---------------------

One of them will crash, and be out for the season within 3 races is my prediction-i have no idea which one.Neither can stand losing-RC will let him win a few but if he feels he will loose the championship he will go all out.

I don't see RC letting anybody win.. If they beat him, they will have earned it..

I think it will be good for about two races and Bubba will crash and hurt himself his first year on a 250, but the second year watch out.

I think Reed has the speed to run every week with these two guys indoors and out. He has only shown that speed a few times outdoors this year, but it is there. I think as Baily said he is just riding around at most of the Nationals since he is not in the running for the title. I think the overall lose in supercross took some of his motiviation away for the nationals.

Posted by: marcusgunby---------------------

Reed and DV have been complaining of handling problems all year-lets hope they get them sorted so we see some real racing. The gps is the thing to watch at present-Everts and Pichon have been having a right 'ding dong' and everts won the last one by 0.3 seconds.

Rick i should have worded it better, i meant RC will not ride over his head and crash hard unless someone starts to beat him regular-like with reed beating him at the end of the SX season-he would have tryed harder(and crashed) if he thought reed would take the title-he knew he had the title and so didnt chase reed to the point of crashing out.If bubba was to win the first 3 rounds i think RC would try too hard to stop him.

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

Handling problems? Sure... they can't handle RC.

Posted by: Senior KX Rider---------------------

Posted by: marcusgunby---------------------

Okie you are probably right but as Roncarda showed at budds they should be able to pressure RC more than at present.Im thinking they are beat mentally before the start of the race-we need new blood to liven things up-maybe everts should have a pop?? hes riding the 125 GPs now as well as the 250/450s and is already upto 6th in the 125s even though he missed alot of the season.

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

I'd love nothing more than Everts running the Nationals.

Posted by: nephron---------------------

Is there any chance in hell I could find the Pichon/Everts show on MY TV???? I've got COX cable, very similar to DirecTV that we dropped last year.

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

Dropped DTV for cable? Humm... I'm begining to wonder about you Doc

Posted by: nephron---------------------

Yeah, I'm starting to regret it, too. The only thing I watch is History International, History, Discovery, A&E, Fox News, ESPN2, Speed, the occasional movie or nocturnal smut , etc....They've both got IFC and Sundance :scream: , which when reverting back to my artsy, fartsy days, I watch as well. Got OLN. Now have local channels, and it's cheaper. BUT, I liked the DirecTV format better.

What channel would we be talking about here, as far as the Everts/Pichon show? I've seen the occasional Euro race, but it's usually some step down GP with 'no-names'.

Posted by: marcusgunby---------------------

Forgot to say -you know my old mate MP-hes lost it lately-last GP Everts beat him by 57 seconds but Smets has stepped it up and was only 2 seconds behind Everts-this is at a track where Everts has never been beat.MP is still leading the GPs but its close.
