I noticed that I only have clickers on the bottom of my forks on my '00 KDX200.
1. Are the clickers on the bottom of the forks rebound or compression?
2. Are the brass screws on the top of the forks only to release air pressure?
3. I can only raise my fork tubes 1/4 inch due the bark-busters. Any suggestions that you guys have other than remove the bark busters?

Adjusters on the bottom are compression. The forks have no rebound adjuster.
The brass screws are only to let the air out.

I have no adjusters on my forks. 97 220. Purchased in Canada. 2nd owner.
Anyone know if any KDXs came without fork compression adjusters?

Remove the plastic dustcap
You can +/- rebound with different weight fork oil, somewhat.

FWIW, you can leave the dustcaps off - they make trailside adjustments a real pain. Without the little rubber dustcaps, the adjusters will get a little dusty, but mud doesnt' tend to pack in there. Even it does, clearing it with a screwdriver is easier than removing the dustcaps.

As a general rule, KDXs come with soft springs and too much high speed compression damping. The clickers have more effect on slow speed compression (like when you land from jumps). High speed compression is when the forks need to move really fast, like on sharp rocks and roots. With stiffer springs and less high speed compression, the bike is better everywhere.
Oil levels control bottoming resistance. If you are bottoming too easily, add oil. Oil weight has the biggest effect on rebound damping and only a minor effect on compression.
