Max difference shim to shim?

I just put a compression stack together for my wp 43 fork - and due to the minimal shims I have available I ended up with the stack starting like:

24 x .1
24 x .1
12 x .15
20 x .1
18 x .1

My question is - is going from the 24's to only 20 too much? I mostly see people going in 2mm increments - but is that just to look good? At some point I imagine the stresses can get too high and possibly the shims could come apart (which I would like to avoid). Any experiences. Is a 4mm difference after a .15 crossover OK?

Its ok to go from 24mm to 20mm.

Yeah OK with stacked 24s if a single 24 at face might be a bending problem after time .

What other size do you have available?

Even though the 4mm dia diference is ok, Nothing says you can't restack the shims:

24x.1
20x.1
18x.1 or another 20x.1
12x.1
10x.1
24x.1
20x.1
18x.1
and so on ....

this way you get the benfits of the 24x.1 as the top high speed shim, not that it is necessary, but you may like it. Experimentation is good

I prefer not to a .15 cross over when all other shims are .1 below the crossover. Now if it was a newer YZ125 with .15 shims to start with, the .15 thick crossover might not be too bad. Just something to think about.
