Preprinted backgrounds

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: MrLuckey---------------------

I am wanting to get new side and front backgounds with preprinted numbers. Lou sent me an e-mail but I can't find it. Anyone have a link to someone who does a good job with these?

Also looking for clear 15 mil or so protection for my rad shrouds and new shroud graphics. Mine are torn to pieces.

Ed,
You should talk to Aaron (CanadianRidr) he ordered some pre-printed number plates from Socal Decal and I'm pretty sure he was really happy with them.

Check out www.mxid.com

Eddie, SoCal will do a great job, but be in no hurry.

Posted by: truespode---------------------

I used SoCal Decal which is basically the same as Decal Works.

www.decalworks.com

I got them in a decent time frame both times (less than 2-weeks I believe). I really like the way they look.

Thanks folks, I ordered some from SoCal and will wait patiently upon their arrival. Next up is some clear 15 mil or so stuff to go on top of my shroud graphics... tried N-Style but their web site SUX. Sorry but I am a techno nerd and won't order anything from a company that can't even put up a decent web site in the year 2003

Almost forgot, I need shroud graphics to go underneath the clear plastic

Nice pics Ivan - you be stylin. Looks way better than that rear fender from the wheelie contest a few years back :scream:

DecalWorks is the shiznit. :thumb: That's my opinion.

Graphics from CycleHut.com. $125:

You beat me to it Lou.... I was about to send the same link as I was reading down. They also have clear to go over the side panels and number plates as well.

SoCal's delivery time is vastly improved.
He said he is looking for preprinted backgrounds, no? Really good stuff.

WHAAAAAAA WHAAAAAAA WHAAAAAAA he moved my post :whiner:

lol

Thanks guys, got some ordered last night. So did everyone that likes them use windex to put them on ??

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

Light spray of windex. Too much, it'll take forever to start sticking.

Posted by: biglou---------------------

I used Windex for my DecalWorks preprints as per their instructions. Most important: Let them "cure" for 24 hours and they are, like, stuck on there real good. Remember the vented number plate on the kTm? Drilled right through the backgrounds and all with no issues.

Posted by: truespode---------------------

I use 50/50 of rubbing alcohol and water (60/40 alcohol to water is good to). Put it in a spray bottle and spray it on. You can move the graphics and you don't have the bubbles you get with windex.

Try it with the front number plate first and if you don't like how it works that is the easiest to fix. Then you can decide if you want to do that with the side graphics.

However, everyone I've talked to that uses the alcohol/water spray has been pleased.

Ivan
PS... you should have seen my wheelie on Sunday. I broke Gomer's son's YZ250's shifter with my boots and sprained my whole foot pretty bad. I thought I had broken something but x-rays came back ok.

From here on out I'm not allowed on any more two strokes... or at least not allowed to wheelie them

Posted by: Jaybird---------------------

Eddie, if they supply you with a small squeegee tool, use it. I use windex, but the squeegee makes it all happen well as it pushes the excess stuff/air out and sets the glue.

UPDATE: I had ordered my pre-printed backgrounds on July 29th. I received them (much to my amazement) on Aug 1'st. They seemed thicker and much tackier than the other brand (not pre-printed) that I had used before. :thumb:

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

Like I said, they have made vast improvements in delivery

Posted by: MrLuckey---------------------

I guess so, I usually can't get anything from CA in less than 4 days.

Good call fellas :thumb:

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

pssst... Edwardo
"SoCal Decal" is actually in Illinois, about 15 miles from my house.
Go figure.

Posted by: MrLuckey---------------------

DOH! Now thats funny. I didn't even notice where they were located

So they didn't like the name "So Ill Decal" ?

Oh wait a minute, that probably would have been "No Ill Decal", now it makes sense

Posted by: Jaybird---------------------

I'm glad to see they have improved on delivery times. They have a kick butt product! Very clean and trick.
