I heard that the YZ450F is a great bike but the power is brutal when riding.

Ive rode a Cr450 and it has more power than i could use-if the YZ is more agressive than the CR then i would stay away.

I've put some serious time on a couple buddies YZ450"S.I have tried to,but I Jjust don't like the things. The mid range hits with a major jolt, and it felt top heavy. It's definetley designed as moto only.
On the other hand I love the CRF450'S and the KTM'S.I had a 520 and it was sweet, but I went back to two strokes. If I got another thumper though it would be a CRF or KTM.Both in my opinion are smoother, more versatile, and less taxing to ride. Doug

I have to agree that the YZF is more aggressive than the CRF. However, my 520 SX with jetting to make it crisper was absolutely brutal. My YZF is silky smooth compared to that beast.

Disclaimer: I've had CR500s and my dad has had CR5s, a 501 Husaberg, and three KTM 380 SXs so all 250cc class machines seem pretty tame in comparison. Plus I'm 200 lbs.

Oh yeah, this is no single-track or rocks machine in stock form. The flywheel and tall 1st gear combine to create Stall City or burnt clutch plates at low speeds. MX only, baby.
