Has anyone used these or something like this? Do they limit shock performance/travel?
Any comments/suggestions?

I use 'em. I notice no difference with them on there. My seals were'nt the greatest when I the seal savers on so I can't validate their claim to help with blown or leaking fork seals.

I’ve been using “Seal Savers” on my EXC for about three years now. I ride a lot of old lead mine chat (like sand) and every time I go to clean my seals there completely dry. I have never had a seal blow. I can’t say this is ALL due to “Seal Savers” but I can tell a difference in the amount of crud that was being packed into my seals on other bikes. There are a couple brands out there. The one’s I use are called “Seal Savers”. I ordered mine from the add section in Cycle News.
For around $19.00, you can’t go wrong. And no they don’t limit the suspension.

I agree with the previous posts. I ride in sand and prior to using them I went through seals periodicly. Since using them I've only went through one - my error, you do have to clean under them though or it will build up and ruin your seals.

Agreed. I think they help but they don't prevent blown seals. I only run them in the winter because they do a good job at keep mud away from the seals. But definitely clean under them frequently or they will actually make the situation worse.
