Quik Carb Tuning question

Here is what I experienced this weekend:
Upon cold start with choke...very high idle, to the point were the kill switch comes in handy
2000 KDX 200, 42 pilot, needle 2nd clip from top, AS 1 turn out,
Michigan/Wisconsin
Is this an indication of a lean pilot, or am I going the wrong way here?
Thanks
Wolf

Try searching by "run away idle"; yes it can be a lean pilot; many of us have this happen (mine usualy in winter / below 45 degrees); many use kill button to keep RPM cool; I turn on headlight & franticaly lower idle screw; sometimes I actualy remember to set idle too low when I shut off bike for the night!

I did that search and found Canyon's explanation. Thanks.
Do I just live with it or do I swap pilots?

IMO, install correct pilot jet and deal with cold engine run away as necessary.
