I just want to say do not buy the vectors. I have had mine for 1 1/2 years ad the soles are coming off (not replaceable either) and the velcro strap is just about shot. If you are thinking about getting Vectors... don't. Dish out a few extra bucks and get some Tech 8s.

I've had mine for 2 years and I really like them. I'll buy them again.

Same here, the soles are just a little chewed, but not really much at all. You can't beat the comfort either.

I had my vectors for a year and the soles started comming off.. they are also a lot harder to shift your bike with since the toe area is so tall... my new gaerne sg-1's are awesome .. insanely tough sole and great aluminum buckles( another complaint with the vectors plastic ones) i will not be buying vectors again. i dont recommend them.

Uh...the shifter is adjustable. You can raise it a bit and it'll accomodate a taller toe just fine. I encountered the same little issue when I bought my new A-star Tech 6's. It only took me about 1 lap to figure out the problem and the solution though. Second lap (after adjustment) was just groovy.

I've had my Vectors for 2 years, no problems, little visible wear and plenty of riding time. Most comfortable boots around and plenty of protection. I got rid of my Tech 8s, which were as uncomfortable as a live-in mother-in-law. I don't think Menace is speaking for many of us. These are excellent boots, but NO boot will last forever, especially if there's a lot of riding/crashing going on. Boots get worn out, just like shoes. Hey Menace, try contacting Alpinestars. You might be surprised at what they can offer in the way of help or repairs.
