Clarke tanks

I have a big Clarke take for my 02 KX250 and I recently took it off for a few weeks. When I put it back on I noticed that gas was leaking out around the petcock bolts. I took a close look at it and realized that when I would tighten the bolts, the brass inserts in the tank would pull out a little so the petcock wont seal. The inserts are tapered so you can't take them out and epoxy them back in. Anyone else have this problem?
Does anyone know of a good sealant that will hold up to gas?
