Rockford Roll Call..Who's Gonna Challenge the Beas

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

The Fort Walton gang will be there AKA (team Mossy Head)

Posted by: KDXfile---------------------

I'll be there; it's one of my favorites. They always put on a good race and have some good trails to ride there.

Posted by: RanMan---------------------

My son, myself, Cahoona, and a couple friends will be there. Looking forward to it. We have never ridden there, so it should be interesting.

Posted by: prk03---------------------

The Rockford Enduro trails are like the trails I learned on back in the early 70 's. I love the 3rd and 4th gear hills. Makes me feel 20 again. I will be there.

Posted by: vico---------------------

I will be there with our usual band of Mossy Heads...
I'm 50/50 at Rockford so I'm ready to better the odds.

Looking forward to a "cool" ride.

Anyone know how their "Fun Run" turned out?

Is the camping area going to be similar to the Tiger Creek Enduro camping area? How rough are the trails compared to the Tiger Creek enduro? How hilly, how much water and mud is there? The mud at the Tiger Creek enduro was not bad. I got stuck twice due to poor line selection, but otherwise was fine. I am just not interested in riding in a pete bog or the re-creation of the Blackwater 100.

Thanks,
JasonWho

Jason,
The camping won't be near as nice as Tiger Creek unless you have a nice RV with AC. The parking area is hilly and there isn't a lot of shade to go around. I would not expect a Blackwater type run. We'll have to keep an eye on the weather to see how much mud there will be.
I can't comment on how rough since I understand the trails are new this year.
The old trails were a blast though. The only thing rough about them was a few rock outcroppings on some hills.

Posted by: JasonWho---------------------

I don't have an RV. If I am able to make it, I will just sleep in the truck. Maybe that will give some relief from all the noise from the generators. I slept in a tent at Tiger Creek and the generators were real annoying.

Thanks for all the information,
JasonWho

JasonWHo....actually, we are just going to drive down that morning. It isn't that far.

Posted by: JasonWho---------------------

It is about 2.5 hours from where I live, so I would have to leave by 4AM to get down in time for the rider's meeting and have time to sign up, get dressed, etc. I was hoping I could just drive down, but if I go, I'd better play it safe on getting there on time by driving down on Saturday.

Posted by: CNM---------------------

Anyone know if the camp will be in the same place as last year? I heard rumors that they had moved it to across the road. I'm planning on coming down Friday afternoon as soon as I get off work. I'm still new to the camper thing and I want to get there before things get really tight. See everyone there!

Posted by: RanMan---------------------

We are gonna preregister and then I'm thinking about making the drive Saturday afternoon to finish signup and get my roll chart and just drive back
Sunday morning.

JasonWho....you are welcome to ride with us Saturday if we go. I live in Anniston.

Posted by: JasonWho---------------------

RanMan, thanks for the offer, but I am not sure I will be going. If I do, I will know too late to pre-register. I'll just drive down and camp on Saturday if I go.

Thanks again,
JasonWho

There will be camping on both sides of the Highway this year again. I suggest to camp on the east side. One of our members has a great little lake and plenty of parking. It should be quieter than the area around the campground (west side of the highway). Please do not camp on the highway right-of-way, you could get a ticket.

The trail will be about 50 miles. The first 24 miles will be new to almost everyone. Be aware we are going to have some "real man/woman/kid" creek crossings. The trail will be a blast!!
RAD DAD

Posted by: skabeeb---------------------

What is the definition of a "real man/woman/kid" creek crossing?

Does that mean we'll need pontoons?

Posted by: RanMan---------------------

My bike don't float !!??

Posted by: holeshotedh---------------------

Me and the gang from Bogalusa will bw there. Also,a guy that's been gone for a while will be too. Jody Martin

Posted by: MARK IT---------------------

Dont worry I'll be on row 20ish and knock all the water out with my 450!
Me and the other guy's will be there.

PS: Hey Ed just go on and put me down for 10 points, save some time ya know.

Posted by: lawman---------------------

i was planning to go, it's 1 of the best places to ride, but i'm on the injured reserves for a few weeks. i'll prob go get some work points at a bjec event instead.

Posted by: D Lafleur---------------------

Lawman, Injured Reserve? :scream: What gives?

I will be there pitting for Kyle on Saturday and Lucas C. on Sunday.

Finally got the boy some decent suspension, I guess we will see on Sunday. :thumb:

See all you guys there.

Posted by: skabeeb---------------------

Hey MarkIt,

Be sure to push that water out of the way. That vent hose mod puts it closer to the water than stock....

Posted by: lawman---------------------

smacked a tree in a hare scramble, cut a nice gash in my massive bicep, 20 stitches. no riding for a couple weeks (boo hoo!)

Posted by: MARK IT---------------------

Skab, the oil vent isnt the one you have to worry about in the H20, it's the float fuel vent off the carb. I went through the creeks @ Calnton and had no
problems with the oil vent (open line) and no H20 in the oil.
Lawman, No riding for two weeks for hitting trees!! and from now on no more hitting trees!!

Posted by: lawman---------------------

oh yeah, i admit it, ya hit a big tree on a dirt bike--whose fault is that? the worst part is that due to the ugly scar i will have, my career as an underwear spokesmodel is totally ruined!

Posted by: MARK IT---------------------

Underware spokesmodel ? though you could possibly get paid not to.

Posted by: sharp---------------------

Did someone say water crossing? I'll wear my swimmies!

Posted by: MARK IT---------------------

In a creek riding gear is considered swimwhere.
