Bubba's fastest lap time at Steel City.
02:32.339

Only Carmichael with a 02:28.709 and Windham with a 2:29.430 were faster...

Ferry placed 3rd in the 250 with a fastest lap time of 02:33.418 and Reed placed 4th in the 250 with a fastest lap time of 02:32.693.

I know this horse has been beaten to death but we are watching history in the making. Bubba is the most talented rider that has ever been in this sport. I just shake my head when I think about what he does on a bike... :thumb:

Thump; I have been involved with MX for 36 years. I have never seen anything remotely like this.

I believe we are witnessing something extrordinary. Whether you agree or not, whether you like him or hate him, everyone needs to pay attention and do not miss what we may have here. James Stewart has the potential to be the BEST EVER. You know; TOUCHED by GOD!!

Time will tell, but whatever you guys do; don't blink. An opportunity to witness such as this is a once-in-a-lifetime deal.

Bubba probably would of been faster than RC except the track has atleast one section that isnt 125cc friendly. The 250's were doubling in the the one rythmn section when the 125's cant do it.

god has nothing to do with it.

Care to elaborate?

TJ,

Which section? I thought he pretty much jumped everything RC and KW did. BTW, did you see the Ryno get off ? It was ugly!

Please take that offline if you want to get into that discussion.

Thanks

Ivan; I really don't wish to get into that discussion, it is just an expression. But I am a little miffed that I would get the response that I did.

So I called him on it.

Jake; my E-mail is hooked up.

Thanks for taking the fun out of the thread, but I guess I am just as guilty.

Rather it is natural or God given, the guy has talent, thats for sure

This section. Bubba could come out of the turns and make it onto the first table top but seemed to almost come to a stop from clipping the face of it. The 250's were landing in the center of it and holding their speed.

I remember Bubba saying "I just want to find out how fast I can go on a 125" on "The Great Outdoors".

Now I guess we know. Reeeeeeeal fast.

Now, get off that tiddler and mix it up with RC and KDub. I'd love to see 3 guys fighting for the win.

Posted by: kiwi_925---------------------

I wouldnt say that bubba is the greatest rider of all time just yet, he has to keep on winning before he can say that which basically means he has to surpass RC, to me RC is the greatest rider in AMA history, and Everts in GP's, both great riders and completely different styles, bring on the MXoN!!

Posted by: ktmboy---------------------

He'll also have to stay healthy. I'd like to see it. I wish him a long, successful career, and hope he continues to mature so as to become a spokesman for the sport, as he really has the potential to bring people in from outside of the MX community.

or could I . . .

Never give anybody the best ever crown untill they actually ride in the class against the competition, having said that, Bubba is mind boggling to watch, and I look forward to the show! CAN he be the best ever? I think so. IS he? not yet. Time will tell, but I think he is the best I've ever seen on a 125.

Johnny O'Mara spanking the reigning 500 World champ on a 125 at the MXdN was pretty impressive in his day. I wish the O'Show of that era could race against Bubba and Ricky on a modern bike.

Posted by: nephron---------------------

That 500 was a CZ with a flat rear tire.

j/k

I've been interested in, and following Stewart since a friend of mine came back from Loretta's several years ago and told me that James, at 8 or 9, on an 80, was pulling off an uphill triple that the 250's weren't doing. His lap times were several seconds faster as well. That's all you need to know.

You took the words out of my MOUTH!! Whever I think of all time 125 riders, I think of the ride by Johnny O' at the MXdN. EPIC, and some of what inspires me to stay on a 125... to ROOST past guys in my class on MUCH bigger bikes. Bubba is amazing, yes, but that ride CANNOT be denied.
