Squeaky and I just got home from Dirtweek03.
If you didn't make it this year make plans now!
Had fun, very tired, sleep now.

Posted by: gnarlykaw---------------------

I'm glad you had a GOOD time!!! and yes, NEXT year we will be there!

Posted by: justql---------------------

Next year?? I'm going this year, I leave in a couple of hours. Just in time for the pigout tonight. I'm not even taking a bike. How sad is that?

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

YAY! Been home for about 12 hours yet and haven't even had a chance to post!

I am so glad I went...Thank you to everyone and I can't wait to see you again next year!

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Well I'm glad you guys had a good time and got home safe. You can fill the rest of us in on the 19th at Paragon. I know you can make it, while you were gone they canceled Halloween

Posted by: Senior KX Rider---------------------

Left Cooperland at 7:30 last night and pulled in the drive here at home at 10 this morning Long drive but absolutely worth it and I'm in for next year

Posted by: Treejumper---------------------

Part of the NorthEast Caravan made it home (Tailbone, ThatWasClose, and myself). We left around 7:30 yesterday and got home at 5pm today. It started out rough but ended well. My first DW that i didnt break myself or my bike. I did loose Tailbones exhaust in Missouri.

Posted by: Jeff Gilbert---------------------

Tigger & I are home safe. It rained most of the way home and there were a lot of idiots on the road. 6 hour drive, pull in to driveway, unload bikes and speant next 3 hours pressure washing.

Posted by: Danman---------------------

Home at last. The drive sucked. Just pulled in and unloaded. Muddy stuff in the garage. Its going to take at least a week to get stuff put up and cleaned up It was a blast though

Posted by: motometal---------------------

we are home, and all of the dirty stuff is going to lay on the garage floor until tomorrow...time to relax!

I was so sick and tired of riding, that one of the first things I did was hop on my XR dual sport and go run an errand

Posted by: Tony Eeds---------------------

Jeff (strsfan2 AKA my son) and I made it into the driveway about 3:30PM and wrapped up the unloading and putting away. There is still mud everywhere and the tarp for Camp Tejas will likely not get washed off until next weekend.

Mexican food and a shower did wonders for the blues that always follow something as cool as DirtWeek. 51 more weeks ... yuk :whiner:

Thanks to everyone that made this trip so memorable! :thumb:

Posted by: XR3J---------------------

Myself and my wife and girls got home about 2 hours ago. We took things pretty slow and made a few stops along the way. I guess I am lucky, I get to go to work tomorrow and since Joni has the day off, she "voluntered" to clean up the trailer. We all had an excellent time as usual and are looking forward to next year already.
Jerry (The  fire last night)

I just got home about an hour ago! Glad all of you got home safe.

Posted by: CAL---------------------

We left Stillwater at 11:00 pm and got home at 8:30 am.  I'm going to bed!!! :thumb:

Posted by: BEEF706---------------------

PK glas ya made it back , great to meet ya. VD and I left at about 8 this morning and I just got home. unloaded the bike but the rest will have to wait, Greetings to the campfire gang hope all have had a safe journey, my ribs still hurt

Posted by: blackhawk468---------------------

I made it home about 2 pm today. Took it easy the whole drive home (with my left foot). Came home unloaded the important stuff, threw it in the garage, took a long shower and fell asleep. Can't wait for next year. Hopefully no freakin rain.

Posted by: GETMETOCA---------------------

Just got home!  Milk and Chisty dropped me off at the airport around noon and I got back home around 7 PM CA time.  Thanks to everyone.  I am happy to see many have made it home safe and sound so far and I hope that everyone still out there gets in soon.

Natalie

I got home 3-hours ago.  765 miles in 12 hours, plus a stop for 6 hours of sleep.  Left Cooperland at 11:00 pm last night got home at 7:00pm central time.

Had a great time!     I washed the red mud off of my bike and car, but gave up on unloading.  I'll do the rest tomorrow.

I'm going to bed.

Posted by: Fred T---------------------

We got home around 7:30 EST, left CL after the awards around 10 PM. (11 PM EST) Going to bed now too after unpacking and repacking for a business trip to Cincinnati on Monday. Back on the road! Won't be home again until thursday evening late!

Posted by: Timr---------------------

Me too Fred.  Gotta pack for an early flight to Louisville Tuesday morning, back home on Thursday night.

We are leaving that red dirt right where it is as a reminder of great times (and the fact I'm to tired to do anything about it)

We made it home in 13.5 hours with no incidents besides some moaning as we hit those St Loius potholes on I44. Dale was trying to find a way to absorb the impacts on his Collarbone

Posted by: biglou---------------------

Got home around noon today. Unloaded everything into the garage, watched the Chiefs beat the donkeys, then went to sleep. Just woke up! More to follow in the coming days...

Posted by: KelvinKDX---------------------

824.4 miles

Just got home at 3:30am Monday morning.  Wendy was already here as i dropped her off at the Tulsa airport for her flight to Dayton.

She's all snug in the bed with her Jewitt brace.    http://www.upstate.edu/uhpated/pdf/...mbar_jewitt.pdf

We can't express enough how thankfull we are to everyone for their help after her spill.

Taking tomorrow off of work to unload and clean up everything.

Like Lou said ... More to follow - i'm going to bed!

Posted by: Dapper---------------------

Pulled in the driveway at 4:30am today (Monday). Long drive, a little over 1300 miles. Well worth the trip. Must sleep now. :thumb:

Posted by: High Lord Gomer---------------------

Left Stillwater about 10:00 Central, got home about 5:00 Eastern. A little over 1100 miles in 18 hours...we made better time getting there.

Posted by: Patman---------------------

I feel like I fell out of an airplane without a parachute and landed on some railroad tracks just as a train came by. I'm ready for next year! :thumb:

The bikes got sort of washed when we stopped and had the rented trailer washed and the 3 rain storms we went through. Still plenty of red dirt to remove from them though. Then bed of my truck has a good 1" coating.

Made it DougRoost's by 3pm after leaving at about 7:30am then spending 20 minutes getting the trailer washed and about 45minutes dropping it off. Hit McD's for breakfast and ran nonstop to Austin.

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

We're still in OK, leaving today. Scotter insists we spend the night half way home , so it'll be Tuesday night before we get there. Whooo Hooo!!! 7 more days and we start driving back! (Uggg)

We dropped-off the RV in OKC Sunday, then had to drive back to Cooperland to get the truck and trailer, it was so weird to see the place completly empty. What was like a bustling small town just hours before was nothing more than a large field.

More later, gotta hit the road.

Posted by: JuliusPleaser---------------------

Made it home after a relaxing 27 hour drive. Mickey D's in Memphis screwed me out of my apple pie, but otherwise it was an uneventful trip.

Posted by: mdkuder---------------------

Had my bikes and gear loaded and came down with the creeping crud Sunday before and ran a 100 deg temp the whole week so I missed out, my son wasn't happy about the whole thing. Oh well next year!

Posted by: XRpredator---------------------

After spending the night with one eye open at Milk's (he's worse than Bob Petrico, y'know), I flew outta OKC and hit Spokane at about 4, got home around 5:30. Still sore . . . still grinning

Posted by: Chili---------------------

Kelvin I sure hope Wendy is ok, Give her our best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Posted by: Flying Scot---------------------

Got home safe yesterday at 1pm. Had a blast and can't wait until next year. :thumb:

Posted by: MrLuckey---------------------

Aimee and I arrived home last night around 8:15. Looks like 2 weeks worth of cleaning and re-organizing everything. Hopefully a week should be enough to catch up on sleep and let the minor dings heal up.

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

Glad to see people are making it home safe and sound.
When I got home my bags landed on the floor with a thud.

they haven't moved from that spot yet.

Posted by: Smitty---------------------

After a grueling 1 hour plus drive Saturday night I took my first shower since wednesday night (I was dirtier than Bob Petrico) and went to bed. Only to wake up at 3 AM when Kristen had a severe pain in her chest and needed some meds. Ended up with a trip to the ER, a shot of demorol(?) and no explanation???? She should be fine, but certainly a mystery.

Either way, she loved her one afternoon of DW and I had a blast as usual.

Posted by: Mikeb---------------------

We rolled back into Memphis about 1 pm Sunday stopped by MickeyD's and the girl saw the racing logo on the trailer, gave us an apple pie and said she owed us one? Weird

BTW WalMart in Conway sure has a great camping area right in front of the store then Sunday morning they had sausage biscuits ready for us ... Nice folks.

Posted by: Timr---------------------

I called Rah rah (John) on his cell phone and found out that I was only about 70 miles behind you guys.  I camped out in a parking lot wedged in between an IHOP and a Lowe's.  There was a McD's in the parking lot of Lowes that was serving up breakfast.

Funny thing:  I stopped at McD's in Memphis and the chick behind the counter told me that 3 nuts in a motorhome stole all the apple pies while she was helping a customer at the Drive up window.

Now it all makes sense.

Funny, that's the same sound your bike made when it fell off the trailer at 85mph.

Glad you got home okay, FJ!!!  I talked to Kiwi today and he said that they saw you sleeping at a rest stop somewhere along the way and were going to pull some tricks on you!!  Apparently they let you sleep

How did you manage to take 27 hours to get to the 'Ham?  I made it through there in 11 or 12 hours.

BTW, what is it with the wierdos in Memphis?  Some chick in a McDonald's uniform was throwing apple pies at any passing truck with a MX sticker!

Posted by: LoriKTM---------------------

We made it back just before 9pm Monday night.  Left Stillwater Sunday around 8:30 am, stayed in Terre Haute IN, Sunday night and then finished the trip Monday.  Lots of muddy bikes and gear to clean up.

I made the comment to Dave that it felt like we'd been gone a month, not just a week.  I guess that's a good vacation!!

We're already planning our chili recipe for next year....

Every trip I make takes 27 hours. The only exception is KC, which generally takes 56 hours (and $1500).

Posted by: firecracker22---------------------

Cam and I made it to Spokane about 7 p.m. local time on Monday night. We made it to Buffalo, WY (with not much to recommend it besides a Best Western that wanted $80/night--in Buffalo??) on Sunday night and spent the rest of the trip in a little more scenic country, through northern WY and across MT. Uneventful trip. Cam will head on up to Canada sometime later today.

Glad to hear everyone made it home ok!!

Posted by: rv6junkie---------------------

We left DW at 11:00pm on Saturday night and got home a 12:04am Monday morning. Everything is cleaned and put away. I think I'll need to sleep for a few days now.

Posted by: Camstyn---------------------

Just made it home from DW! The Xm radio kicks ass

4700 miles altogether, went by pretty fast. Time to start getting my stuff ready for next year and rehabilitating my liver..
