When did XRP say he was going? :thumb:

Posted by: XRpredator---------------------

He hasn't, but someone (someone named after Wilfred Brimley!) sez I am . . .

I'm not gonna jinx nothin' yet

Posted by: gospeedracer---------------------

Hey, if you're on the list, you have to go, thems the rulz.

Posted by: Unkle Moose---------------------

My buddy DR.Stack will be returning this year and also my neighbor
F205Twister and family.

Posted by: bratt---------------------

What the....?

Ok just what the hell is going on here? I don't see Bratt on the list and I've read it three times just to make sure I didn't get put on the guys list by accident again.

Posted by: gospeedracer---------------------

I suggest an eye exam.

Posted by: Kav---------------------

OK it's looking like I'm not going to be stuck out in the middle of nowhere too soon (watch now that I've typed this I'm going to get a phone call...) looks like I'm a go :D

Posted by: ChknLittle---------------------

I'm going the self-fulfilling prophecy route, and saying I'm in too!   Hubby's schedule will be the only thing that could keep it from happening.  It's just too long and treacherous (haha) of a drive for me to do it alone.

So if you've ever heard the story of the little kid who wished for a puppy and dragged around a potato on a leash until it got smelly & rotten (yes his parents finally gave in), then think of me!

So for now, ChknLittle & FilthyBeast (hubby) are in! :thumb:

Posted by: Kawidude---------------------

I'm a definite MAYBE right now. Still working on a few details to show up early Friday and leave Saturday afternoon.

Now, is it absolutely ridiculous to consider tent camping at Moonrocks? Will I still freeze if I invest in a super-freeze-proof sleeping bag and keep my belly full of Gentleman Jack and/or rum? Just trying to get an idea of what I'm in for.

Posted by: ChknLittle---------------------

From what I gather from the others, you might wake up in the morning with your belly nice and warm, but your extremeties frozen right off! JD can only do so much for ya (less and less the older you get, from what I hear)!!

Posted by: GETMETOCA---------------------

Kawidude, that would be GREAT if you can make it!!!! We'll probably be pulling another Clear Creek New Years' so hopefully I will get to ride with you before Reno!

Just think of the K2 climbers and the sherpas.....they sleep in the snow all the time!!!!

Posted by: biglou---------------------

Kawidood! If I'm driving 1600 miles each way, you better show up!

Posted by: Kawidude---------------------

Hey Nat, I'm thinking I'll be able to make it, but I'm considering sleeping in the back of my 4Runner instead of a tent. I keep hearing that your riding is improving dramatically so I'm starting to feel like I should have gotten the 525 to keep up with you!

Lou, luckily my arm doesn't need to be twisted too hard to get me to go riding . I keep hearing about this drag race up the whoop hill and I'm thinking that sounds like fun. Can I just get someone to check on me that Saturday morning just to make sure I'm not encased in a thin layer of ice?

Posted by: bsmith---------------------

Kawidude, I've camped out like that before in the back of my Blazer. The frost eventually builds up to where you almost have an igloo

Posted by: Kawidude---------------------

Wow, truth be told, I'm not so worried about my body. I'm worried about my shiny new bike! How will I keep my baby warm outside? I guess I need to bring lots of blankets and heating pads...for the bike. Unless I can figure out a way to slide it inside the 4Runner with me. Hmmmm...

Posted by: velosapiens---------------------

i'll be there, staying at my house in truckee

Posted by: ChknLittle---------------------

Kawidude needs to wipe out and break some plastic on his shiny new bike so he cares a little less about its well-being!  I say this, of course, because I finally broke in my new bike this weekend (major emphasis on the word BROKE :whiner: )!  It does wonders for your over-protectiveness!

Oh, now that's just wrong! I hope you didn't put any bad mojo on my first trip to the Moonrocks. I know what you mean though. I've already got a few scratches on the new ride...although I may be able to buff them out before February 14th.

Buff = caress.

Just admit it!  My husband likes to "buff" his bike too (hehehe) - it's just an excuse to spend hours in the garage rubbing your bike down...   I think he does it just to make me jealous!

Posted by: Kawidude---------------------

OK! OK! I love my bike! There, I said it. Phew...I feel better now.

Posted by: rickyd---------------------

Looks like me and possibly 1 of the kids will show up Friday evening then leave Sunday.. I have some freinds in Sparks that will probably want too ride.. Can't wait too meet everybody
Rick

Posted by: endoquest---------------------

Hi GSR! I won't know for awhile but I REALLY want to go, not just for riding but to see this great bunch o' folks again. Keep me on the list, THX and say hi to Eddy for me. See ya, off to Jawbone!

Posted by: Moto'n Mama---------------------

My husband and I will finally join you guys this year. I've been lurking here since 99 as SarahL99 - some of you have seen my posts I'm sure. It sounds like a lot of fun. Firecracker is the only one I really know on this forum but we're definalty looking forward to riding with some new faces. We're trying to decide if we should camp out in the 5th wheel or stay in a motel?

You can`t fully appreciate the BLENDER at a motel!!!

Posted by: Moto'n Mama---------------------

Maybe we will have to camp then! We'll bring extra limes, salt and Patron!

Hey Adam, I'm looking forward to removing that "?" next to you name. Hope to see you there.

Posted by: Dirty Dave---------------------

You can add at least 4 more riders to 'OFO Racing's' group for the weekend. Plus...We are thinking about camping just to watch the fire and the blender. Maybe the Husky could spin it up...

Posted by: Kav---------------------

OK, well I jinxed my self. So I have to pull out

84 and just under 3 months before the event - pretty sweet. Think we will break 100?

The more the merrier!!

Posted by: Moto'n Mama---------------------

Then the merrier we'll be! I just saw a piture of FC and the "blender" (or is it FC on the "blender") - it isnt what I expected!

Thanks Thumbs. Its my kind of "scrapbooking".

Posted by: Weidman---------------------

New on the DRN Forum but rode last year with a couple of buddies (Dirty Dave) at the Reno ride. How do I get my name plus one more rider on the list? I remember what the staging area looked like I may camp there.

Posted by: Strick---------------------

I think just posting on this thread will get you on the list. Gospeedracer is the countmaster.

Posted by: bsmith---------------------

Welcome Weidman :thumb:

Posted by: fremontguy---------------------

Ok, I guess this is where I register I'm in for another desert moto festivess. Is this the fourth annual now? Lookin forward to February.

Posted by: gospeedracer---------------------

Where have you been Les? You've been on the list for a long time! I little birdie told me you would most likely be going again I took the liberty.

Posted by: fremontguy---------------------

Well since my Chevy's done blown up and been rebuilt, It should be safe now to make the trek. See you folks Saturday morning at the rocks :thumb:

Posted by: DezDuster---------------------

Finally healed up enough to go riding again. Two months ought to be just enough time to get back into shape again. I look forward to being there Thursday thru Sunday.

Posted by: Tee---------------------

Will be sad to miss this year after attending the past 2 years.
I'm stuck in Florida minus any form of 2-wheel transporation of any kind.
I sold my 200MXC before leaving California as riding in Florida just wouldn't be the same...

Have fun!

T

Posted by: gospeedracer---------------------

I was wondering why you hadn't piped up yet. Did you move?

Posted by: Tee---------------------

Sure did... In August. My wifes family is here.
Funny thing is I still work in San Diego! Except from my house in Jax.
Ahh, the wonders of the computer world.

I'm not sure if Desert_Racer is going to attend or not.
He sold his KTM and got into Street riding. He just got a WR400 though so he may be up for it.

T

Posted by: Strick---------------------

TEE - get on a plane! I have an extra bike for you (good ones too).

Strick

Posted by: gnarlykaw---------------------

PUT ME ON THE LIST!!!! just made all my arrangements!!! :thumb:
Tony, check goes out in the morning! :thumb:
I am REALLY syked about this trip!

Posted by: Strick---------------------

Welcome to Reno (in advance)!

Posted by: gospeedracer---------------------

List has been updated

Posted by: EyesWideShut---------------------

Hi, Speedracer this is Ron Burress from Boise, Idaho, I am coming on down for Reno ride, and am staying at Peppermill Casino, with E-ticket (brother), and the Ant, Friday - Sunday. Can't wait, and already have my eyes wide shut!

Posted by: E-Ticket---------------------

Hah!! My doink-wad brother is coming down to ride with us...!

I can't wait to roost his face!!

-- RandyB

Posted by: EyesWideShut---------------------

E-ticket, Thanks for your vote of confidence, and the abuse! Looking forward to Reno, can we start in January, or do we really have to wait? I already loaded bike. EyesWideShut

Posted by: The Ant---------------------

I'll race ya up the hill, Ron !!!
Have to warn you tho, part of my strategy is to bounce wildly all over the hill so's you're afraid to pass me....
-Susan
BBR230E

Posted by: EyesWideShut---------------------

I won't have to worry about you bouncing all over the hill in front of me so I can't pass. Having my eyes wide shut has really lowered my stress level, you
can't be afraid of something you can't see! Closing my eyes when I swing my golf club has added 30 yards to my drives, so I'm hoping it works on a high speed motorcycle as well. Just hollar real loud when I pass so I can open them again. I have found that eyes open at top of hill comes in very handy, especially with those darn drop offs on the other side. I am so excited about Reno that I can now load my truck in 1 minute flat, and be halfway down the street before I remember that I forgot my gearbag. How many days left?

Posted by: gnarlykaw---------------------

And you guys thought I was bad!

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Alright...add me to the list as a 99% positive that I'll be there. I've spent hours on the web today researching airfare, and I think I found one that I can swing!

Now to take care of the rest...

Posted by: Strick---------------------

Squeaky - I noticed you ride a '86 XR200. I also believe your location means Boston. I have a '98 XR200 with goodies that is not spoken for. You are welcome to ride it the entire spodefest if you like. If you want it I will reserve it for you.

Strick

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Strick~ That would be great since I am flying in from Providence!

Thanks so much!

Posted by: GETMETOCA---------------------

Wow Squeaky!! Woohoooo! Squeak's coming to Reno! Score on the XR200 as well! Strick is always looking out for everyone.

Posted by: Strick---------------------

It is officially reserved for squeakygirl.

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Posted by: firecracker22---------------------

Awesome Squeaky--can't wait to see you there!!

Posted by: gospeedracer---------------------

List has been updated

Posted by: bbbom---------------------

Okay, add bbbbbooooommmmmmmmmmm and Karl

Arrive Friday evening (probably late) staying at the Peppermill Travelodge and leaving Monday morning. Everything else on the spreadsheet is the same except one of the CR500's has an iron deficiency - it's now a CR500AF!

Posted by: E-Ticket---------------------

Woo-hoo! The Katzenjammer Kids are showing up!

And congrats on the new scoot! May have to talk you out of a small trial ride.

(it will most likely be up and back on the fire road... only to return with really large eyes.....) :scream:

Cheers! - RandyB

Posted by: bbbom---------------------

Thanks E-Ticket, unfortunately, it isn't MY new scoot - I have to learn to keep the shiny side up better before I can justify getting such a pretty bike. Besides, the AF's don't come in PINK!!!

It's Karl's new bike but I'm sure you can sneak in a trial ride, he let me try it out and he KNOWS how much I break on my bike!!!

Posted by: E-Ticket---------------------

Bump. <grin>

The list has been updated

Posted by: Strick---------------------

So, does this new count require MORE porta-potties?

Posted by: galant2nr---------------------

Hey Steve,
I look forward to riding with you again this year. We had a pretty good ride last year. Remember I was a newbie on my WR426 last year...

Brandon

Posted by: LawManNv---------------------

Hi guys,

All is well if I can get my bike running right. I added an '03 cam and yz250f exhaust and the thing does not want to run right. A jetting problem I'm sure. The wife won't be riding this year cause we are expecting a little off roader on April 30th. She might stop by though.

I remember trying to stay ahead of the "newbie" on the 426 last year. See ya there Brandon. Can't wait to ride!

Now don't tell me that. I am expecting my '03 cam any day. I haven't touched the jetting on my bike yet, and I don't want to start.

Posted by: LawManNv---------------------

I'm pretty sure the cam had nothing to do with it. I think it was a combination of the pipe and the temperature. I tinkered with it some more today and I think I have the jetting close, it was running much better. Previously it was popping so I thought it was lean but it fouled two plugs. I put in some smaller jets and they worked a lot better.

BTW, that cam is best money I have spent on my bike. No more starting nightmares, just stomp the lever like a two stroke and it fires up. See ya next month.

Steve

Posted by: _SOLO_---------------------

Aimee, you forgot one person on the list, ME! It's kind of a late decision, but Jen talked me into going.

Watching from afar, Pierre and I have decided to join! Sounds like the desert will be a blast. Quick Mick applied a lot of pressure as did the ant and E ticket! We look forward to meeting those of you that we don't know and looking forward to seeing those with whom we ride!

No one is allowed to laugh at my desert riding. I have never ridden in a grain of sand!

Posted by: dirt bike dave---------------------

Please add me to the list of attendees.

Posted by: Dirtygirly---------------------

I won't be able to make it this year. I have skeleton club selection races this Feb 13,14, and 15th. So I will have to attend in Spirit. I'll be thinking of you all as I am flying down the track head first at 70mph. I will definitley miss you all.

Posted by: KiwiBird---------------------

Good luck Dirtygirly - got pics?

Posted by: E-Ticket---------------------

Bummer, eh!

You know... after I think about it... I think we'll probably have a couple flying downhill...head first.... at 70 mph.

We'll raise a toast to you at din-din.... but you'd better show next year! <g>
Have fun, DG! - RandyB

Posted by: Strick---------------------

Randy - my money is on Karl heading down a hill somewhere, at speed, off the bike.

Posted by: E-Ticket---------------------

Yah.... that's a sucker's bet...! <grin>
And he'll have to work on his new nickname....'cause "BBoom" is already taken!

Man, can wait to go ridin' down there again! Woo-hoo!
- RandyB

Posted by: E-Ticket---------------------

Woops! almost forgot...

16 days and a Wake-Up...!

We're going to *try* to get in Thurdsay night so we can go for a warm-up ride on Friday. See you out at MoonRocks or are you playing "guide" elsewhere? - rb

Posted by: gospeedracer---------------------

List has been updated. We're up to 24 female riders!!

Posted by: bbbom---------------------

Hey, no picking on my sweetie! :flame:

Posted by: alleycat---------------------

Well it looks like a bunch of us locals will be there on Saturday. John, CJ, Doug, Stacey, Christina and Kara. Plus we may also have a few others tag along to watch the whoop hill racing. The ladies are all new to the sport and Kara is only 6. The guys are old and slow and just getting back into it after a long time away.

Posted by: rickyd---------------------

I need too be taken off the list, the kids report card came in last night

Posted by: gnarlykaw---------------------

The more i read through the posts, the bigger this event looks to me. And since i suck at names, anyone up for wearing pit name tags???? I'll try to wear mine the whole event if I can..........
if it's not on, most of my sweat shirts have it on it..............
Help me out here guys.

Posted by: Strick---------------------

I'll make sure I introduce myself from the back of a pick-up. It's kinda like a ceremony now.

Posted by: E-Ticket---------------------

That's not a bad idea....

I'm gonna' slap on some masking tape on my chest protector with my screen name and witness program name. :thumb:

Posted by: MudnRocks---------------------

GSR, Please take me off the list (dinner too), I won't be able to attend this year after all.

Can't wait to read all of the reports!
Kimi

Posted by: gospeedracer---------------------

Sorry to hear that Kimberly

Posted by: endoquest---------------------

It looks like I'll be going to Reno after all. Whooppee!
Funny how things work out. I'll be doing the drive on Thursday, staying at the Peppermill. Friday and Saturday Ride. Head home Sunday. Cheers all, Endoquest.

Posted by: KiwiBird---------------------

Cool mate! Looking forward to seeing you.

Posted by: MrLuckey---------------------

WooHoo Endo

Posted by: thumbs---------------------

Cool, Adam Endo & Dopy are gonna make it.

Posted by: RetSenior---------------------

Aimee,

Please take me off the attending list and dinner list. Now that I have this Broken wrist I will be out of action for at least 6 weeks and I need to save my Vacation for rides and not for entertaining. Pass on to the Strickler that the Dollar for the Porta Potties is in the mail.

To all have fun and see you next year,
George

Posted by: endoquest---------------------

Right on Kiwi, Eddie, Thumbs. I will post my c-phone on a private message. Cheers, Dopey/Endo/Adam.

Posted by: CycleBuy---------------------

Hello Aimee and all,

Add us to the list, 'cause it's time to go riding! We haven't even touched our bikes since we left Jawbone after Thanksgiving. Too much work and too much rain.

Belle and I are definitely driving down on Thursday (probably caravan with Endoquest) and staying through Sunday. It will be our first time to Reno, so we are really looking forward to seeing everyone again and riding new areas.

Counting the days ......

Bob n Belle

Posted by: KiwiBird---------------------

Bob and Bell

Posted by: gospeedracer---------------------

Bob, you and Belle were at the riding school in Oregon right? Consider yourselves added to the list!

Posted by: gospeedracer---------------------

Well we lost some :whiner:
The list has been updated

Posted by: Moto'n Mama---------------------

Dont think we'll make it - my husband is driving back from Tahoe right now (we had business plans change on us last week for a project we have going there). He'll be home about 5 this evening and I dont think he'll feel like turning right back around and going to Reno. If he didnt have business parteners with him, I would have just had him take the bikes down with him and I could have just flown down to meet him like tonight! I was looking so forward to this too! We are known to get wild hairs up our ars so if we do show up - we'll be exhausted but still ready to ride!

Posted by: bbbom---------------------

Hey, I already told you that you better make it!!! :flame:
