04crf450f Susp/Set-up

My friend just bought an 04 crf450f he is 6'2" 213#'s w/o gear he races A-Senior Hare Scramble.
What susp. mod's need to be made?

In my opinion he should just ride it first to break it in then evaluate it .What terrain? If he raced more MX one might think he would need some firmer springs but he races H/S and probably could get by or if races in rocks and roots might need a silkier softer setup, . There pretty stiff but pretty close as stock.Hes heavier than some and a bit taller too . Someone else might say to throw $ 400 at it right away but I just told you my ideas. Tell him to grease everything , I just saw a 04 450 where there was like zero grease on the steering stem bearings. Weve also been spraying a small bit of that expandible foam insulation down into the big frame spars on the Hondas it seems to cut down on the vibes . Good Luck

Im with dean-the 450 is a great machine in every way-i dont think he will need any work apart from clicker changes.
