Tusk shift lever

I was curious enough to buy one of these for my YZ 250. It is a well made part and at 19.99, a good price. Rocky Mountain ATV sells them, maybe other places.

The lever works as advertised. The polish work is good and the fit decent.

My only complaint on this is the area where the splines have been created. There is a major amount of flashing from where the splines were broached. The ridge or flash occured when the lever was tapped for the threads to hold it on.

I like the aluminum shifter because it is weaker than the shift shaft. I can imagine the shaft getting tweaked or broken from a fall if the shift lever is too strong. I have had this happen running a metal IMS lever (although the IMS lever fit perfectly!)

I would have liked to see the shifter produced for a 25.00 retail price. This might have let them spend a bit more time on the finish work.

Overall, on my personal scale, I give this thing 6.5 stars out of 10. I would like to see what others have to say about this shifter. Maybe I have one that is below average?
