I just recieved my CRF and put about 30 min on it. When I went to change the oil and iol filter I found some very fine metal shavings in the oil filter. I haven't ran it since. I am wondering if anybody else has had this happen and is it just something with the 4 stroke?

thats what happens when you break in a new motor thats why you should make the first two oil changes pretty quick after one ride at the most

Thanks, I did not notice this in the 2 stroke but it would be difficult with no filter...

Yup, exactly right and this is the reason for running in on a mineral oil and changing it and the filters at least 2 times in the first 2 hours.
After run in change to semi or fully synthetic and roost hard
PS: also change the gear box oil on your CRF after the first 2 hours
