04 CRF450 pinching cables when turned full right

It looks like it is hitting the steering stop when turned full right, but it also seems to be hitting the throttle cables when turned all the way. Anybody else notice this? Any chance they are routed incorrectly?

Gomer.
Mine is not an '04 but, on my '02 the cables are held in place by a little tab on top of the CDI unit. You may have to re-route them.
Or, you could get some 19" wheels and turn it into a flattracker. Then ya only gotta turn left.

OK, brainfade. :scream:
It was the clutch cable on the left side that is held by the little tab.
The throttle cables come over the top of the radiator, between the radiator and the frame. They point up at about a 45degree angle as they go through the forks. Mine clear the fork stops by a long ways.

Gomer, I think I had that problem on my '01 CR250. Brand new, the throttle cable was already pinched from people messing with the bike on the showroom floor. Is your problem a pinching between the fork tube and the CDI/holder?
Try removing the front number plate and routing the cables differently around the bolt, and/or using a cable tie to hold it out of the way. Of course, when you are done make sure everything is clear lock to lock.

Yea the CDI unit being mounted behind the front number plate, usually causes a hang up for cables on most CR's. I even had a problem with this on my 00 CR125. I just rerouted the cables out of the way of the CDI box and haven't had any problems since. Once I learned, sometimes the shortest distance for a cable from one point to another doesn't always mean it's the best. The route that has the least bends and kinks in it is the route that works best. I learned this when I tried to reroute my throttle cable through my right side radiator. Didn't work, it's supposed to go around the frame neck and through the left side radiator.

After closer inspection, it is the hot start cable that seems to be getting pinched between the fork tube and the frame. I moved it to that side after installing the Dr. D. Hotstart on the right side.

It's kind of tight...maybe I do need to do something different with it.
