What are the major differences between a CRF230 and KX125, obviously one is a 4 stroke and one is a 4 stroke but power wise. I am coming off of a XR100 for 2 years and rode a 86 dr200 for a while and i have no problems with riding MX80s. I am 5'5"-5'6" 119 lbs and catch on quickly and a decent rider. Do you think i could handle a 125.

Thanks :thumb:

I meant 4 stroke and 2 stroke and their website doesnt tell me the power differences, and I wanted people to respond that actually ridden the bikes and would like to help me not be an asse.

There is no comparing a KX 125. A 125cc Motocross 2-stroke has ten times the power than a CRF 230 4-stroke, heavy, undersuspended trail play bike.

My situation was extremely similar to yours:

I came off an XR 80 for one year, and I feel I could ride it pretty well, and I just got a KX 125 for Christmas. I am 15 years old / 5'6 - 5'7 / 115 lbs. I do fine on it. If you had 2 years on an XR, you deffinetly have a great understanding of how to operate a dirtbike, since the XRs are the best bikes to build riding experience. I can ride my KX 125 just fine. It feels a little big at first, expecially off the XR, but you get used to it and I like having a slightly bigger bike.

So no doubt you will be able to handle a KX 125 no problem.

I think a 80MXer has about the same power as a CRF230. Pretty sad when you get the same power for 3 times the bore(and weight). You might look at a KDX or KX100 if the 125 is a little big but its alright to shoot high. Good luck.
