hi,

How has your winter been down there so far? I am thinking of going, but i had my fill of sloppy mud runs during the 2003 season. I may not want to go if it is going to be real bad.

I heard it was pretty bad down there for last years race.

I raced last year, and let me tell you. It was awful. If they were running the race this weekend, it would be the same as last year. We just had a ton of rain last night and today. But, in a few weeks it could be great. Who knows. I was planning on going again this year, but had a family conflict come up.

When we are not off on a race weekend we train very close to that area.

So far this winter it has been ok. Not as much rain to soak the ground as last year. Just keep an eye on
http://www.intellicast.com/ go to Greensboro GA and look at the weekly history report.

We had a ton of rain here North of Atlanta this week, but most of it skirted north of where the race is being held....so far so good.

Watch this link...if it is .5in or below for the preceeding week, come on down.

thanks guys, I will keep a watch on the weather. I am itching to ride somewhere that doesn't have all the snow and ice we have here, but the mud can be just as bad sometimes.

How does it get at that race when it is muddy? is the soil real hard clay which gets extremely slick?

I Rode There Last Year And It Was A Mess All You Had To Do Was Follow The Rut But It Wasn,t The Clubs Doings They Cann,t Control The Rain I Think I Made It 20 Miles And Had All The Fun I Wanted Went There 2 Years Ago And It Was The Same Deal Only I Got Stuck In A Mud Hole That Took 3 Of Us To Dig The Bike Out Good Luck If You Go

Race time is almost here. I heard they had a snow storm down south last week, did it hit the race site too? How about any other precip?

hey rda ive raced the upland enduro & think its awesome

Posted by: rda---------------------

yes, it is a great ride, it was my first, of course. They got a little over zealous with the river crossings last year though. First time in 12 years of enduros that I ever drowned out a bike without dropping it first. They have a dual sport in july that runs the same trail.

We are heading down there and we are just wondering what to expect..how is the trail.is it fast and open or more tight and technical? are we going to need to throw the mud tires on ? thanks for any info.

a lot of switch backs semi tight but very good & tough
