I have not yet purchased the bike but Im pretty sure Im going to. It is a 2002 KDX200 and I was wondering where I can get black plastics for it (front fender, rear fender-with the tail light holder). Also I want to know what type of renthals will fit it. Thanks.

i got my plastic here http://www.frpoffroad.com/index.php?page=kdxposed and any 7/8 Renthals will fit . they are just different bends , i use the CR style . if you go with fat bars or twinnwall you haft to change the mounts to 1 1/8 ".

If you can't find them, Krylon, believe now has a spray paint that adheres to plastics. I looked at it real quickly at Home Depot and it was a two step process I think - a primer and a topcoat. They had sprayed up some lawn chairs and it was durable.

all i have ever seen were green on the radiator covers , id just paint them with the stuff that gwhII said .

I'm quite sure the paint'll gouge like anything else, but if you can't find it in black, it may be worth a shot to you. It was formulated to be sprayed on plastic and, if I remember correctly, the first half of the painting process was a primer/sealer and the second was the color coat. It was sprayed on a couple lawn chairs and survived the fingernail test. I didn't try to take a pocketknife to it. About all I can tell you about it. If you're in one of the chain hardware stores, take a quick look and see what you think.

Other thought - go to www.mxsouth.com and look through all the major bodywork people, maier, acerbis, ufo, etc, and see if they have what you want first of course.

I checked MXsouth, but I couldnt find anything. What I want to do is have a black front fender, black rear fender and black radiator shrouds. I will also get an acerbis universal light in black and black pre-cut number plate backgrounds. Finding most of these parts seems to be a challenge. Will any other bike parts fit the KDX 200 i.e. KX125, KX250? Thanks again.

Yeah the front will swap off a kx250 but the rear needs some coaxing and cutting. Have a look at the front fender in these pics its a 2000 kx250 fender made by UFO. The rear one on mine is a hacked up 90 model kx250 rear guard (ugly i know). I cant get the maier ones in Australia. http://community.webshots.com/user/kdxer200

Looked around a little bit and maier, click: www.maier-mfg.com, has a black front fender and a black rear mx fender. If you want a tail light, I'd look at fabbing something from either a KTM EXC ( it looks to be a rear fender extension with a light added to their stock mx fender design) or getting a flushmount turnsignal kit for street sportbikes, mounting one on the fender, and adding a red LED. Either way, you may have to make your wiring loom which isn't bad.

UFO has a black front fender (since the fronts are interchangable through several models) but everything else is in green.

As for your shrouds, I haven't found any black ones. One thought would be to get some graphics that are large and mostly black. I saw one somewhere that might fit the bill but I don't remember where. You can always paint the shrouds. :-)

if your getting a new fender (this goes for anyone) GET A 2003/2004 KX FENDER FOR YOUR 95-04 MODEL KDX'S! They look WAY better than the regular KDX ones, and the bolt right on! All you have to do is drill out the holes that are there, a little bigger so you can put those metal things in the new fender. the fender looks so much better, and doesnt curve as much. I paid 20 bux for it on Rck mtn.

I just put black fenders on my KDX from Maier. The rear in an MX style fender so I took the light off and went for the MX look. I also kept the stock shrouds because I have a graphic kit and seat cover. Here it is.

I just went through this. I could not find anyone that sells black shrouds. i did find the black (maier) rear fender however it does not hold the taillight. i have only found green and ****e side plates too.

I am changing my bike to black as well. first of all my graphics nearly cover the entire shroud and they are on a black background. the same for the side plates black background with flamed numbers on a green panel. front fender is off fredette's site but is for a KX of any kind. I went with the black non-taillight Maier fender on back and have some custom graphics coming for it from Xtreme GraphiX they are on MX south's site. i called them and they are cutting me the number plate backgrounds and the rear fender graphics for $59 Oh yea that included the front fendr tip and two curved pieces for the front fender.

the thing to keep in mind is the graphics cover all but about a 1/4 inch all the way around the panels and just the bolt holes and the edge show the panel color.
