Ocelot and Shift: Good? Bad?

Anyone have experience with Ocelot SX boots?
What about '04 Shift Assault jerseys and pants?
I've seen a good package deal on these items at Chapparal and wondered about the quality of the brands.

Im not sure about the Sgift or Ocelot gear, SHIFT is made/owned by FOX, and Ocelot is Oneal.. I have heard about some problems w/Chapparrals mail order service..

only prob with chapparral is when there is a back order they dont tell you if you order online shift is nice gear ocelot is about as cheap as they come (cheap tor boots are better)

I have been wearing Shift gear for years without any problems. All of my Shift pants have had half length liners which is good if you wear a knee brace, but my be less comfortable if you dont have a brace or use long socks. If you use a kidney belt buy one size larger pants, or they will be tight. I wear a 34 in normal pants and a 36 in riding pants. Even if I do not wear my kidney belt the pants still fit because on the built in belt. I don't have the '04 gear, so I can't comment on them directly.

I have a whole set of Ocelot gear and it is working fine for me. The boots have a slight irritation spot, but thats because they havent been broken in yet, i have only worn them around the house. The only problem with chapprall is the mail-order. My pants and gloves are currently on back order and i was not aware of it, only unitl i sent a "nice" little email did i recieve information on my order. Hey, its cheap good quality stuff, so what if that service sucks a little. Also, the Shift, Xtreme, and Ocelot chest protectors look an awful lot alike, hmmmmm.

You might talk to your parts guy (if he went to the Indy trade show?). I had my local parts guy that I go thru look at some gear that I was interested in, and he was pretty impressed with the new Shift 04 gear. He was going to order some of it into for his shop. Mainly because he had alot of quad guys asking for it. But he did say it was real good looking stuff. Sorry that I couldn't help any more.
