I like the Maxxis IT too. Good price, hooks up well and holds up well

I have the IT and like it for the rear. Seems to take anything I throw at it in stride. Don't care for the front. I ride in a good mix of terrain. The front does not like hard pack with loose or loose stuff with rocks. Skates a bit on the deep sand to.

I ride hills and muddy trails. I love my Michelin S-12, it hooks up on everything, a softer compound which will wear faster, but if you are looking for a tire to hook up in deep mud, this is it. Also the IRC VE33 is a great tire, my father has one on his bike and it dosen't slip a wheel. Good luck.

I second the S12. It is a good all-around tire that holds up extremely well. I ride alot of rocky hills, and the tire resists chunking and gives great bite. This tire has amazed my friends with it's durability, also.
