KDX200 vrs KDX250

Hi there!

I got, not long, a go a 92 KDX200SR :thumb: . I am still working on it but a friend of mine told me about someone selling a 96 KDX 250 SR . Have you heard about the 250s? I undertand KDX250SR were made between 1991 and 1993, Am I wrong? Well, lets say it's a 1992-93 ... Would you guys get rid of the 1992 KDX200SR to get the 250? Any advice will be highly appreciated.

I don't have a lot of experience with the SR model KDX's but 50cc's never hurt to have in my opinion. If its in similar condition to your 200 SR i'd go for it.

Only thing i'd be concerned about is the fact that it was produced for such little time it might be hard to find parts for it. Also gotta wonder why they stopped making it so soon, usually they don't stop producing things that are working well...Just something to consider

I know that most of the parts that you need for a KDX 250R are shared with the KX 250 of those years. So parts shouldn't be an issue as long as the SR model isn't too different. I'd imagine that most if not all the hop-up tips for the KDX 250R would apply as well. MattGT had a KDX 250 and a webpage that contained lots of info about them. Might be a good place to start.

A 250 is a much better bike than a 200 of the same year there. The SRs were different from the US models which are discussed here. But they were made from 91-96 for the SR.

Basically put, the 250 has more potential then the 200 bikes. But it does take a bit more to get it setup properly. Luckily with Ebay, that makes things like KX forks an inexpensive upgrade.

Where is the edit? oh well.

Should be for up to the 95 Model 200s. Then they are in a perimeter frame like the 250s.
