gordon mods for XR???

I have heard about the gordon mods for the XR. Where can I find them?

Do a search in Thumpertalk.com or any of the other sites for hondas. I found a bunch of threads, may even be one in here. Word of caution: Some of them are cool but if you plan to open up the exhaust tip I would either go with an aftermarket one from baha designs, a different muffler, or laeve the stock alone. I saw a buddies done w/the mod and it sounded tinny, looked crappy (and he's a perfectionist), and was too loud. The loudness is what'll get all the riding shutdown, everywhere. Also be sure to retain the spark arrestor so you can legally ride offroad. Good luck!

To add a little.... I modified the stock muffler per the gordon mods by drilling the 7/32 holes. It sounds better, throatier, not tinny, and not too loud at all because I only drilled two instead of the 3. You can't even tell by looking at it that there are holes because they are in a very recessed area. The holes are between the spark arrestor and the outlet so the exhaust does not bypass the spark arrestor.
I'll know the dB reading after this weekend's enduro. I expect to be in the 80s still.
