anyone have any comments or experiences with carb jetting after installing boyesen power reeds on a 2000 kdx 220R.some say leave it alone some say downsize the main and clip.already running a fmf gnarly with a frp torque spacer at stock jetting.

don't go by what anyone says, just jet the bike according to what it wants. get different jets and "play" with it. You'll find that sweet spot where it runs the best.

Jaguar is right to find the right jetting for YOUR bike.

Just for point of reference, I just put in power reeds on a 97 220 that had an FMF Rev pipe and TCII, no air box lid, and ridden at sea level. Kept the 145 main and dropped the pilot from a 42 to 40 it is cleaned up nicely. YMMV

also 97 220 with 2stage boyesen reeds. running 40/145. stock needle 2nd clip down from top.air screw 1 1/4 turns out.dropped down from 45/190 (no ...not my idea of jetting-the bone head who owned the bike before me put those in). pc pipe, air box lid mod, at sea level. southern NH. i went down two pilot sizes because i was already a little rich on that circuit. flawless everywhere, except for the 0 to 1/16 throttle above idle. it needs just that tiny area to clear out before it becomes electric motor like in uniformity. but hey...it is a two stroke after all!!
