Motor Mounts?

What thickness and kind of metal (steel?) should I use for my custom motor mounts? They will be for a KX 125 frame with a KDX engine snuggly fit into it. Any help would be appreciated. I can weld but I will be going to the local welding shop to make sure it is done correctly. Wouldn't want my motor to fall out in the event I case it. I want to have the mounts cut and in place before I get it to the welder.

I use this a lot for fabrication. If you are having the mounts made, ask the guy at the shop what he recommends, he might have a preference. Hope this helps.
4130 Alloy Annealed Steel-Also called "chrome-moly" steel because of its chromium and molybdenum content, this material is ideal for forging and heat treating. It is tough, ductile and wear resistant. Maximum attainable Rockwell hardness is C20-C34. Conforms to ASTM A331.
