I'm 19 and just getting into dirt bikeing. I'm vety athletic and excell in all other extreem sports i have tryed. I have tryed rideing smaller bikes once or twice and had no problem.
so anywase will a crf 450 be an over kill for a first bike??

Not at all......I think it may be even easier to learn on.

That is way to much for a first bike. Try like a 125 or something along those lines.

I say go for it. Its all about throttle control - it only goes as fast as you make it go. My 13 yr old is riding a 250 mx bike and rides it great. Just start slow, dont try to be Kevin Windham on the tracks and you may never outgrow that bike.

I've ridden one of those and it's a LOT of power. It almost got away from me a couple of times... my CR250 is enough for me that CRF is mean!

If you got the money, go for it!

I think the power is much more manageable then a 2 stroker 250!
