I need help! What should I do to my CR to be competive with the new bikes in amatuer motocross? I have Moose handlebars and grips and a sidewinder sprocket. I have an Pro Circuit pipe and silencer coming. I will be getting stuff a little at a time. My birthday is coming up and I'll have about $500 to spend on my bike.

Get your suspension working really good and practice as much as you can. If you get your suspension semi-dialed in you should be able to compete at the beginner level in motcross. Unless you blow your $500 on race-tech-ing your suspension (which is what I would do if everything else was pretty good), just install new fork oil and seals and have the rear shock redone. You will probobally want a new top end too (piston and ring) because the bike is pretty old. Check you compression first since you are on a budget. At the beginner level it has alot to do with physical conditioning and lots of practice, and nice suspension will make everything easier.
GOD LUCK!
