2001 kx250 engine case

i have a hole on my right side crankcase. i wanted to know if i buy a used one, do i need the left side also or they are not matched?

Kawasaki sells them as a matched set . With a little careful inspection and a little acurate machining I have seen a set of mismatches paired up .
