83 RM250 Forks

Hi all out there - in the process of replacing fork seals - only can't seem to get them apart!! I have removed the top damper, removed the long spring, also removed the clip holding the dust seal and also the dust seal itself, but that;s it. Can someone please tell me how to remove the actual fork tube? Thanks.

I'm trying to do the same thing on my '86 rm250 can you tell me how ou ended up doing it?

Lemme guess, you had to use a 24" extention T-handle type wrench with a small socket on the end?

mandark1967, that will not work... there isn't a nut or bolt at the bottom of the shocks. The only way that I can see that they would come apart is to take off a "nut" at the top of the inner sleeve, but I don't really know what kind of tool I would need to get the "nut" off. It looks like I would need some kind of large allen wrench.
