Not to long ago I purchase a rim from **** and the rim read excel, new tire, and 19 x 2.15. Well I got a D.I.D rim, not a new tire, sprocket was gone, and the wrong size a 19 x 1.85. The rim came of a 2005 125 or 250f so the rim is in good shape. So I was wondering if I should just keep the rim and put on my bike. The guy refund me some money back and the rim came out to be 150.00 which is not bad since the rim is in good shape. I will mostly use this rim on the dunes. What do you guys think about this? Should I use a 19 x 2.15 instead or will the 19 x 1.85 be okay. Does any one use a 19 x 1.85 on sand?
Thanks :fft:

I would think than when in sand or mud, you want a large tire to keep you "on top" of the terrain. A 1.85 will need a 100 size tire (125 or 250f). Seems to me that's going in the wrong direction for sand riding.

I got a cheap rim of a '98 125cc suzuki and adapted it to my KX250. there was no problem to use a 110 size rear tire, but the spokes broke like toothpicks. :whoa:

A 1.85 rim will pinch a 110 or 120 tire, but it can still be done. I would hate to use a 100 tire in the sand for sure. You should have sent the rim back and told the dude to pack fudge or produce what he advertised.

BTW I've got a cherry Mercedes Benz for sale, low miles driven to church by my granny...you interested?
