To answer the question, you are on the right track.
When you jet a bike it means to change the jetting of the carburetor in a methodical manner that allows you to understand and analyze the results of each change. Our bikes are not a finicky as pros. They change the jetting all the time to address temperature, humidity, track conditions, etc.
I have changes my main jet once on my 200 and have never even looked at my 400.
