KLR 250 Good Bike?

I am thinking about buying a 1989 Kawasaki KLR 250 (dual-sport) for 1800$ CAN tax-in.
I am going to use this bike mostly offroad but probably some on-road driving to. I want people opinions on a) is this a good bike in most respects? b) Is it a sufficient offroader for a new rider? and c) Is this price fair (hes throwing in barkbusters and a brand new never been worn jersey). Its in very good condition and starts first kick. It has registration, insurance, and all the lights need for on road driving.

I think your getting ripped off unless this bike is in mint condition with like less than 500 km...my dad bought a 95 KLR250 with not a lot of miles for $2000 cdn. It was in decent condition at the time. It was also the army version of the bike.

Really a 95 for 2000? Its in fairly good condition and starts first try, but it has something like 40000km. What would be a good price for it then?

I'm not really sure on this one, I mean, we got a good deal. It had less then 1000 KM when we bought it I'm pretty sure. 40 000?!?!? I wouldn't buy a KL with that many miles.
