I've noticed a lot of real black oil around where my pipe attaches to the muffler/silencer.

I get oil on my rear brake resorviour(sp?) and everywhere around that. I noticed it comes out of right where my exhaust connects.

I bought the bike like this and I don't know if the previous owner didn't make the exhaust connection right or what.

If anyone could tell me if the exhaust just slips on without anything else or I'm missing something, and why am I getting this thick oil out of there. Should I use a lower precent of oil in my ratio next time??

Thanks.
Jake

Thanks man. I wasn't sure if there was a name for what was going on with this. Kinda new to the 2stroke thing.

The guy I bought it from said he played with the jetting for a while and it's good. Maybe I should just run a 32:1 instead.

Thanks!

Is there anything I can do to get a better connection between my two sections of exhaust?? It seems to just slip on, and the "spooge" drips out and makes my bike look really ****ty.

There should be a seal between your pipe and the silencer. Let us know what kind of bike you have. On average, a 125 likes 32:1 and a BR9EG plug. A 250 likes 40:1 and a BR8EG plug.

No disrepect to the previous owner, but you should verify the bikes condition for yourself. Spooge can be a sign of; a leaking crank seal, improper fuel/oil ratio, wrong heat range for your plug, dirty air filter, bad rings, ect....

Clean your air filter, make sure you have the correct and new plug, mix a fresh batch of gas/oil, and start jetting. Don't forget a compression check and a silencer repack too.

Good luck, Steve.

Stock jetting seems a bit rich to most, here is a site to give you a base line;

I found out something in my CR125 manual last night. On the right side of the engine, down on the lower clutch cover right below the right side exhaust valve side cover, there is a screw to remove and drain out that spooge. I checked my exhaust vavles last night, and attempted to take the screw out, it is in pretty tight, will have to replace once I actually get it off. I ended up just removing the exhaust valve cover and when removing the one on the right side, it was full of the spooge. My exhaust pipe gasket was shot and letting the spooge leak down the front of the engine. According to the manual, this is supposed to be done ever 22.5 hours.

Sorry I could have swore I said what kind of bike it is. It's a 2003 Kawasaki KX125. My whole exhaust is FMF. There isn't anything where they connect together besides pipe, it just silds on and slids off with easy. Where can I get a seal to put between the too so I don't get that nasty leak.
