Was XP an upgrade (over a previous version)? It's a major hassle, but always worth a clean install.

you can install over it, it may be worth a shot before you try a clean install. there also may be a repair option when you boot off the cd, ive had sucess with the repair option using win2k.

I've heard that if you don't do a full clean install there will inevitibly be problems.

Or you could sell it. accept the loss, and get a Mac!
