First you need to decide EXACTLY what bike you have. What model year is it? Are you POSITIVE? You verified this from the frame tag?

Next order the plastic for that frame. The actual displacement doesn't mean beans. You are trying to get plastic that fits a specific frame / chassis.

well now i def think i have a 01 rm85 not rm80.my problem is the vin is scratched off the bike and it didnt come with a title or anything.but i looked on the motor and it says 84CI
Did the rm85 have a 84CI motor?

now its all starting to make sense bc ive ordered parts for the bike under 01 rm80 like front pads/rear spacer/master cyliner bolt and none of the parts fit or matched up.im def starting to think its a rm85.

and it says 46.8 as the piston stroke on the motor next to the 84ci numbers.theres also a vin code on a plastic piece near the tranny cover.can i verify the bike/year with that number instead of the vin on the frame?if so where??

yea i def have a rm85 then.i just googled it and saw that the newer rm85's atleast have a 84.7cc motor.now it makes sense why all the parts ive ordered have been different lol.

can you figure out the exact year by the 10 digit engine code by the trans cover?

i must have a rm85 then.anyone know the cc of the 85?
I just told there marking as 84cc = RM85
2002 - 2010 84cc class as in RM85
2000 - 2001 mix of 82cc and 84cc RM80/85 Cylinder casting.
1995 - 1999 82cc class as in RM80
1978 - 1994 79cc class as in RM80
Start from 1986 they all share the same Stroke that was 46.8 all way to 2010 the only diff was in the the Bore Size 47.5mm for RM80 or 48mm for RM85.
In fact I'm 99% for sure that the Cylinder from 1991 thu 2008 are the same other then cast mark I know buttom end are the same I have 05 with 96 Cylinder and head.

Let say it was frist sold 2001 and started out life as a RM80 so he who frist got it or some else swap out the stock 82cc cylinder to 84cc cylinder becuases they blow up the cylinder or they could have even swap out the motor it self.
Kind like what I did with my 1987 CR80 which end with much newer 2002 CR85 motor when buying part where much cheaper a few years back then they are now.

i found the unprofessional bill of sale of the dirtbike and the guy did write 01 rm85.for some reason i thought it was a rm80.i dont think the motor was swapped out bc i tried ordering a stock master cylinder bolt, rear spacer, and front pads for a 01 rm80 and none fit.plus it has a 84cc motor.so im def pretty sure it has to be an 01 rm85

i looked on biker bandit and they dont sell rm85 stock parts.anyone know a site i can get these from?

If the bike is an RM85 "for sure" then it might have been sold in 2001 but was a 2002 model. Thus it IS an RM85 and not the mystical 2001 RM80 that nobody will have parts for. So give up on worrying if it's a 2000 or a 2001 or a 2002 since the 2001 aparently does not exist as a RM85 and just live happily ever after ordering parts for a 2002 RM85 even if the bill of sale says 2001. In the end you could order parts for darn near any model year RM85 and they are going to fit.

I sure hope picking out what to wear to school each day is less involved. :whoa:

the vin is scratched up and rusted a bit lol.theres numbers on the motor near the trans cover and 84cc casting number on the cyl head.thanks for your help guys.when none of those parts were fitting i thought i got a pos suzuki lemon.

the rear spacer i ordered for the 01 rm80 was def a little bigger than the spacer that came with the bike but i still got it to fit.the whole wasnt bigger just the washer part was bigger in diamerter.

anyone know a site to order oem rm85 parts.bikerbandit doesnt have a section

They sure do, just look at 2002.... I think that might have been suggested once or twice.
