ok when we took the cylinder to get it honed the guy noticed a crack in the rubber boot that attaches the carb to the engine. If this is whats causing it to be lean is there any way to patch the crack by filling it with hot glue or rubber epoxy? or is there anywere i could get a knew one.

you can get them at bike bandit, but like fox said rich/lean isnt your premix its your jetting air/fuel and what could have caused it when you where doing a high speed run do you just let off the throttle or clutch let off and coast? if you just let off and you let the engine brake, THIS IS BAD FOR A 2 STROKE!! it would cause it to sieze, and it depends how long you holded it full throttle

Dylan, as far as I know, you can not jury rig that boot. If that boot is bad, check all your rubber very carefully. Like the boot to the air box, and the air box seal. Its an 82, the left crank seal also. It is made out of the same material. Who ever is "fixing" the cylinder, make sure the exhaust bridge is relieved more than the bore of the cylinder.
