In lamens terms, dirtweek is a week of dirtbike activities put on by Dirtrider.net at Copperland Raceway in Oklahoma. There are many sponsors including Astrisk, Thor and a host of others. The way it works is you register and make the trip. Once there you will get the chance to ride - ride - ride. There are miles of woods riding (single trail type stuff) motocross on a couple of tracks, and just about any other type of dirtbike riding you could want. There are organized events (that are free to enter) and there is open riding pratically anywhere - anytime the coarse or track is not in use for an event. When you get tired of riding there are the times for just general visiting and stuff. Usually around 7pm everyone gathers unter the big top tent for thousands of $ in give-a-ways. Plenty of food freinds and good times. Everyone watches out for each other and usually there's a "what's mine is yours" type of atmosphere. Events ie; races are geared to give people a chance to participate in something they usually wouldn't or that never have before without fear of just plain sucking. example would be MX. MX classes are designed so that if you've never been on a MX track you ride the C class, if you've raced before and understand the principle of racing then you belong in the B class. If you are racing C class at home then you probably belong in the B class or perhaps even the A class at DW. If you are a strong B or A class you will probably be in the PRO class with the real deal. In short, it's not about winning races at DW, It's about seeing the faces of the ones that did it for the 1st time and made it though upright, even if they came in last. DW is all good but it's much more than just riding a DB all week. Kind of reminds me of listning to someone sell you on Amway in a way, there's a lot of hype that you just can't understand until you experience your 1st DW. Watch for pictures on this site, read some of the posts by those of us that attend and then go next year to give it a try 1st hand. Then you will understand. :thumb: btw, this is the only site you'll visit regarding DW because DW is a DRN event only
