Hey my buddy recently got a 1995 yz80. It had been running great until just the other day when it died. We eventually got it running again but we just don't know what to do and he doesn't have the $ to take it in to a shop. The problem is the bike won't idle. Whenever he slows down it kills. When he starts it, it also sounds really weird. At first it sounded like the engine was going but almost like something wasn't "catching." It basically made the sound of a bike running on empty but that isn't the problem it is getting gas. As embarassing as this may sound we don't really know how to properly replace the air filter. Any help would be great and sorry for throwin all these q's out at once. -Nick

got her running for a second today...then she locked up. the kickstart arm is stuck.

Well that was fun while it lasted. Time to tear the engine down for a rebuild, as its now seized. With any luck, its only a top end, but it could be more than that. Gives him a chance to check it out and freshen things up while its apart, at least then he'll know what he's got more than he did before.
