Racing on Halloween / What a TREAT!
A large number of contenders participated in the
Gobbler Getter Kids race after a short delay due to an injury to a
would be spectator that had to be gotten out of the woods and to a
hospital. She flipped her 4 wheeler and injured her leg, hip and
ankle.
Once the racing began the
Beginner Pee Wees attacked their 1 mile course in harescramble style
of racing. Due to the number of contenders and the conditions of the
trails, PMMC officials felt this would be best for the competitors.
Cade Holder grabbed the hole shot and led until the next to last lap
when he had a mishap and Grayson Davis got around him to claim the
win. William Walerius, Damian Peterson and Zane Williams rounded out
the top 5. The Pee Wee kids started across the way from the BPW class
for their contest on the 2 mile course. Austin Anz was first thru the
scoring tent and never gave up the lead. Kayne Hinton and Ethan Gregg
finished 2nd and 3rd. The older classes started
after all of these youngsters were finished and their course was 3
miles in length and they raced for 4 laps for the leaders. Neal Ousley
claimed the hole shot with Brennen Reed challenging him closely until
the last lap when Ousley pulled away for the win. Phil Whisenant and
Landon Barrett rounded out the top 5. Evan Chisolm and Jackson Davis
put on a show for the first of the race but Chisolm was on the gas and
finished 1st with Davis a not so distant 2nd .
Cameron Reed, Harrison Caver and Dayton Nicholas were the next 3
across the finish line. Carolyn Reed and Alex Wiggers were fender to
fender after the first lap with Wiggers making a pass on lap two to
take the lead at the scoring area. Reed made up the time and passed
Wiggers back on their 3rd and final lap to claim 1st.
Kellie Nicholas got the hole shot in the Girls class but Alyssa
Blackwell would win for the day followed by Nicholas and Ellen
Herrington.
All of the results for the kids will be on the
website - there were 39 kids to treat us with some good competition
and very few tricks!!! Way to go SERA kids!!!!!!!!(and ladies)
