I used adhesive foil insulating tape on the bottom of the tank and bent the pipe down all I dared, gaining about 4mm, then by hammering on an iron bar creased the top of the pipe slightly to gain a few more mm. It got hot but never melted the plastic. On my 03 bike the stock pipe had plenty of clearance, it was only the Gnarly that was a problem. Steve [/QUOTE]
