1999 RM250 Clutch Cables woes

I recently put a new Triple Tree on. Noticed a bad clutch cable position. So i took the lever off then the cable out of the lever. Now I have way too much play in my cable to make it go tight again. What did I do? Is there some thing in the clutch basket that came off?

Does it still have some pull on it? Maybe routed it wrong, not sure, you could just possibly need a new cable.

see if you can turn the clutch lever on the tranny and see if you have tension there if that is ok than its fine inside and could possibly be the cable

If its like my 02, the cable goes into the ignition side of the engine. There is a lever that the cable ball fits into down there. You probly popped it out of there. Just take the side cover off and reinstall it and you should be good to go. Some bikes have this connection on the outside of the motor, so if thats the case it will be more obvious and easier to fix. Good luck!
