I recently changed my air filter for my 07 honda cr125r and realized I did not ring out enough filter oil. It may have gotten into my carb and gummed it up. Would this cause my top end to not perform? Bike ran great before I did this and now I notice it runs poorly in the higher gears...sound good and starts up fine just is no were near as fast....please help!!

No, the oil would not have clogged anything in the carburetor.

If the air filter itself is so gummed up with oil it can't pass enough air then that could explain a power loss at top end. Try washing the filter again and then apply a light coating of oil, see if that helps.

Next time use paper towels to get off the excess oil. You can't remove it all that way but it will get rid of more oil than wringing it out...and you won't risk tearing the filter.

Like Rod says, you still have to re-clean the filter because the oil has all ready thickened and won't come off otherwise..
