Can you race a cr 80 expert in the beginners classes at the races. I didn't know if the size of the bike made any difference or just you experience. thanks

It depends on the track and its officials and how they inforce it. A friend of mine has a KX big wheel and races it in the 12-15 year old class. When he got a 9th the guy who got 11th complained about the bigger wheels. Away went his trophy so the nark could get his 10th place. If you're racing non-district races then you'd probably get away with it. With the big wheels there is a definate advantage over normal 80's. That's why someplaces make them race in the 100 or 125 class.

The 80 experts and KX100 with the larger wheel sizes are
defined by the insurance companies and the AMA as
"motorcycles"
and not
"mini cycles"

I know it is strange but a line for bike size has to be drawn somewhere and that is the line.
Its as good as anyplace to draw it.

youth clases are for those age group classes competeing on a
"mini cycle" by the ama rule books diffenition.

defined - "motorcycles" are NOT legal in those "youth" classes
only in amateur and pro classes.

an example where a CR80 expert or KX100 is legal
is Schoolboy class.

Basically those bikes fit a very small class structure.. and the manufactuers knew this very well when they made them.

great bikes ..limited "legal " race classes for a "youth" aged rider.
