Getting a back tire off.

DOes anyone know how you can get a back tire of the rim with out gouging or ruining the rim without taking it somewhere? if so please write.

nylon rim protectors
like little plastic things that snap on to the rim.

you can use a piece of leather double it up and it wont scar them up
and a little dish soap,will help it slide on
